Are you looking for some advice from a lawyer working in immigration? In this episode of the Maximum Lawyer Podcast, Tyson interviews Evelyn Ackah, an immigration lawyer whose personal journey from Ghana to Canada shapes her professional mission. Evelyn shares how her family’s sacrifices and early experiences with separation inspired her passion for helping others build legacies through immigration.

Evelyn shares her own personal growth when facing challenges that people can learn from. Being the first and the only (which stems from her experience living as a woman of colour in 1970s Vancouver, Canada) really shaped her mindset when it came to her law career. For her, it is all about how to fix, solve and improve something or a situation. Growing up with a hyper-independant mindset helped Evelyn lean into herself and her strengths when working for clients.

Tyson and Evelyn speak about what drives leadership and team culture for a law firm. For Evelyn, it is all about purpose. Thinking about why you are where you are and how to make today better than yesterday. For law firm owners, knowing your purpose will allow you to understand how you need to lead your team so everyone can succeed. If a leader knows why they are at that firm, the people working there will know too.

Tyson discusses Neil Patel’s insights on the importance of blogging for AI-driven search and how automating repetitive marketing tasks with AI can boost business growth.

Are you looking for some tech tips as a law firm owner? In this engaging episode of the Maximum Lawyer Podcast, SEO expert and entrepreneur Jason Hennessey shares his journey from mobile DJ to founder of Hennessey Digital, detailing how necessity led him to discover SEO. He discusses the evolution of SEO, the impact of AI, and practical strategies for law firms.

Jason speaks about the future of AI in SEO. In the early days of Jason’s career, AI was being used to reverse engineer websites to figure out what was working, which was very time consuming. In this day and age, AI is a lot more accessible and is being used by different people for different things. For companies like Jason’s, AI has opened the door to allow for more traffic because his service can reach different people due to AI’s diverse usage.

Jason and Tyson discuss the errors law firms make with their websites. One thing is people do not take action when they have the steps in order to do so. This is seen with many people who attend law conferences. Another error is trying to implement a solution right away and thinking it is going to solve the problem. Jason gives an example of a company hiring someone to design or maintain a website, but not having any oversight whatsoever. This can cause a lot of issues for a business owner who can lose control of what they are creating.

  • How Lawyers Can Escape Toxic Work Environments and Thrive in Their Own Practice
    2025/10/21

Watch the YouTube version of this episode HERE

Are you a law firm owner looking to find ways to improve your marketing? In this episode of the Maximum Lawyer Podcast, Tyson interviews Kelli, a former litigator who left toxic law firm environments to launch her own trademark law practice. Kelli shares how she built a supportive, flexible firm culture and leveraged her marketing skills—especially on social media platforms like Threads and Instagram—to attract clients.

Kelli provides some insight about working in toxic law firms and her approach to creating a better work environment for herself and her staff. Kelli worked in a space where she needed to prioritize work to the point where there was no acknowledgement of good work or a reasonable work-life balance. For Kelli, this created an unhealthy relationship to her work and having feelings of overwhelm and burnout. For her staff, she ensures everyone is excited about what they do and love coming to work each day.

Now in a healthier environment, Kelli shares how she brands and markets her firm to get clients. She leans on a casual approach to branding, which is the opposite of law firms in general. Kelli uses creativity and uniqueness to brand her firm by creating a fun and fresh website to showcase what she is selling. Also, leveraging social media platforms, like Threads has been helpful in engaging with clients.

Are you a law firm owner looking to learn more about AI? In this episode of Maximum Lawyer, Tyson interviews Eric, founder of Arrow Effect Marketing and Meet Gabbi. Eric shares his entrepreneurial journey, the inspiration behind his company names, and how his passion for storytelling evolved into innovative legal marketing solutions.

Eric speaks to the challenges of lead intake within legal firms. Law firms with weak intake processes usually suffer from a lack of personnel or certain databases or technology that are not up to date. Eric shares how intake is an important aspect of a successful law firm and how Meet Gabbi is used to improve it. For Eric’s clients, the use of Meet Gabbi has led to 20-30% more conversion of cases. The AI tool can be used by potential clients who might need some more guidance before they connect with a lawyer. It can also be used between client and lawyer once a case gets going to schedule appointments and collect payments.

Tyson and Eric talk about the legal system’s cautious approach to AI and where that hesitancy stems from. It stems from the creation of hallucinated cases that are not real and taking time away from people who really need help. But, the use of AI can give the legal space an advantage over other industries. It can allow those in the space to maximize their time and focus on winning cases instead of completing administrative tasks that can take hours in day.

  • Will AI Agents Replace You or Make You a More Efficient Law Firm Owner?
    2025/10/14

Watch the YouTube version of this episode HERE

Are you a lawyer looking for some tips on AI technology? In this episode of Maximum Lawyer, Tyson and expert guest Martin Kravchenko discuss the practical use of AI technologies—such as vibe coding, AI agents, and tools like Gemini, ChatGPT, and Notebook LM—in legal and personal injury law firms.

Tyson and Martin discuss bottlenecks within firms, especially with tech versus human bottlenecks. For law firms, Martin suggests that people are the biggest bottlenecks if you don't have the right amount of staff in your firm doing the right work. With a small firm, the people are important. As a firm increases, technology can become the bottleneck because there has to be a good, streamlined system in place to ensure people are able to do their jobs. If a good, solid CRM is not in place, the whole firm can really suffer.

Martin speaks about his use of an AI tool called Gemini and the benefits of it. One thing is people can access it through their Google Workspace and Gmail, which makes it easy and efficient. It can also process documents better, which for lawyers who work with medical records, can be really handy. Many people struggle with badly scanned PDF documents, which for Gemini, it can read quite well. This can make any lawyer's life a lot easier when preparing for a case.

He shares actionable tips for leading effective meetings, discusses strategies for optimizing sleep (“sleep maxing”), and highlights AI-driven prompts to boost online authority.

Tyson provides some leadership tips to help people in these roles run meetings smoothly and efficiently. Another tip is that leaders should be actively engaged in a meeting. Being engaged, listening and providing clarity will ensure you add value to both the meeting and your employee’s time.

Tyson chats about Perplexity’s Comet browser for automating tasks. Comet acts as a personal assistant and can automate your tasks for you while you are working. Tyson does a demo with listeners and prompts Comet to search the best restaurants in Nashville. In real time, the browser does a search in Google Maps and a search bar pops up with all the results.
