    In today’s episode of Inspiring Movement. I'm joined by Dr Hugo De La Peña, a renowned cancer consultant and researcher. Dr De La Peña, a graduate of the prestigious universities of London, Cambridge, and Oxford, has spearheaded groundbreaking clinical trials in the UK and contributed significantly to cancer gene therapy in Latin America. He holds a PhD in Cancer Genetics and Tumour Immunology from University College London, and his work has been widely published and recognized with multiple awards, including the European Young Scientist Award. An elected Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, Dr De La Peña is also an ambassador for Cancer Research UK and a clinical adviser for Maggie's. Today, he'll share his expert insights on the advancements in cancer care.

  • Episode 1 - Chris Skelley MBE - Paralympian Gold Medalist

    I am so excited to share with you my first ever guest on the Jim’s Gym - Inspiring Movement podcast as the incredible Paralympic GOLD medalist Judo Champion, @christopher.skelley MBE PLY. It was an absolute honour speaking to him and hearing his incredible story. He is a wonderful man. I’m so excited to share it with you all! 🎙️

    Diagnosed with a rare form of albinism at 19, Chris faced unimaginable challenges, including being temporarily placed in a psychiatric unit due to disbelief about his condition. Yet, judo became his sanctuary, leading him to the British Judo Centre of Excellence in Walsall. His dedication paid off with a gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics and he is now currently training for Paris 2024. Off the mat, Chris is a community hero, delivering food parcels during lockdown and winning the UK Sport Social Impact award. 🥇
