  • The Greater Game: Chapter 9 – Greater Commitment
    2026/08/19

What becomes possible when you commit to a long-term vision, even when the path is full of setbacks? In this episode, Dan Sullivan and John Bowen explore Greater Commitment, the ninth of the 10 Multipliers, and explain how strategic stubbornness helps entrepreneurs turn obstacles into fuel, create greater value, and build momentum that compounds over time.

    Show Notes:

Greater Commitment is the compound effect of strategic stubbornness.

Entrepreneurs are the only people in the marketplace who can make decisions quickly and invest in the people, tools, and opportunities that help them move forward.

The Strategic Coach® Program turns entrepreneurs’ real-world experience into thinking tools that help them expand not only the success of their entrepreneurial life, but the enjoyment of their entrepreneurial life.

Entrepreneurial success is never a straight line; there are wobbles along the way, and some of them are significant.

The obstacles standing between you and what you want can become the raw material for achieving it.

Persistence can eventually produce results, but commitment creates momentum that compounds over time.

Becoming an entrepreneur is a life sentence in the best sense: your ideas, independence, and vision can make returning to conventional employment difficult.

The improvements you make through the 10 Multipliers can increase the value of your entrepreneurial company, whether or not you ever intend to sell it.

Reactive stubbornness is simply resisting other people’s expectations, while strategic stubbornness means staying committed to a meaningful future while remaining flexible about how you get there.

  • The Greater Game: Chapter 8 – Greater Agency
    2026/08/05

It’s time for entrepreneurs to play The Greater Game and go 100x. In this episode, Dan Sullivan and John Bowen explore Greater Agency, the eighth of the 10 Multipliers, and show how taking full ownership of your results lets you create new markets, bigger opportunities, and breakthroughs from even your toughest setbacks.

    Show Notes:

Agency means you take ownership of your experiences—positive or negative—instead of blaming the circumstances.

When entrepreneurs see something broken in the marketplace and take ownership, they turn that gap into a new capability.

Entrepreneurs who operate with agency don’t just compete in existing markets; they create entirely new ones.

Creative entrepreneurs spot opportunities that others miss because they’ve taken ownership of their entrepreneurial lifetime.

Many non-entrepreneurs assume entrepreneurs just copy what already exists, but the best entrepreneurs redefine the game.

The greatest entrepreneurs expand an entire industry by turning their market impact into new opportunities for everyone involved.

At this stage of The Greater Game, you’re building platforms that turn former competitors into collaborators in a bigger game.

Your greatest setbacks, obstacles, and failures are actually the raw material for your biggest breakthroughs.

  • The Greater Game: Chapter 7 – Greater Autonomy
    2026/07/22

It’s time to stop being indispensable and start being invincible. In this episode, Dan Sullivan and John Bowen explore Greater Autonomy, the seventh of the 10 Multipliers, and show how entrepreneurs can design self‑running companies, boost valuations, and free themselves to focus on their Unique Ability® while their businesses grow bigger and simpler.

    Show Notes:

Gaining greater autonomy is all about moving from being indispensable in your business to being invincible because of your business.

Many companies are founder‑dependent, and buyers don’t want to acquire an expensive job. They want a business that runs without the key principals present.

When a company can operate smoothly without the owner, valuations jump from low single‑digit EBITDA multiples to double‑digit multiples.

The laws you set for your business should protect your uniqueness and still work even when you’re not in charge or in the room.

Greater autonomy gives entrepreneurs the confidence to start new ventures, travel more, and design companies that grow while they’re away.

Dan’s self‑law of “I don’t rescue” keeps him from stepping in to fix problems so his team can learn from failure and become truly capable.

Investors want as few complications as possible, which means no dependence on the founder, no unnecessary family on the payroll, and clear operating systems.

The biggest motivation for autonomy is owning your time so you can spend it on your Unique Ability rather than getting pulled into daily operations.
