  • study abroad in Japan ~日本留学日誌〜
    2026/10/09

    2 passions

Pragathi from India and Sebastian from US

They chose Japan as their destination for studying abroad.

Japan is, in many ways, a comfortable place to live. However, it would be difficult to describe it as a country that excels at intercultural communication.

If studying simply means reading books and memorizing information, you can do that almost anywhere. But having someone nearby to share your feelings with, whether you're going through a difficult time or celebrating something good, can make life less stressful and much more fulfilling.

That said, I wholeheartedly support the decision to venture beyond your comfort zone when the subject you want to study, or the knowledge and experiences you're looking for, can be found elsewhere in the world.

Living abroad myself taught me what it truly means to coexist with people from different backgrounds and opened my eyes to different ways of seeing the world.

Thank you for speaking so openly and honestly about both the good and the bad of your experiences as international students in Japan.

If you're thinking about studying in Japan in the future, I think you'll find their stories genuinely insightful. Give it a listen!

  • GraaaaaR part1 ~~ the best way to protect yourself from a monster is to know what makes it tick.
    2026/09/27

    100 % English Episode

    The artist's name is OCTEEL.

He's been a longtime friend of mine.

And what brought us together in the first place was Godzilla.

    “You’re a Godzilla fan, right?”

I asked him that casually, but it didn't take long for me to realize something.

This guy has a passion for monsters that I could never match.

    Actually, that's not quite right.

    He doesn't just love monsters.

    He creates them.

He draws them, turns them into tattoos, and brings them to life in three dimensions.

That feeling we had as kids, when we'd draw monsters and let our imaginations run wild.

“What if there were a monster like this?”

He’s still chasing that feeling, seriously and passionately, as an adult.

Whenever I look at OCTEEL's work, it takes me back to those childhood memories.

To the Godzilla we loved when we were kids.

And, in fact, meeting him brought my own love for Godzilla back to life.

When I was living in New York, I even had the chance to connect with Godzilla freaks from across the United States.

Those hours spent talking about monsters are still some of my favorite memories.

    And now, October is here.

The season of monsters has arrived.

And next month, a brand-new Godzilla movie is coming to theaters.

    I can't wait.

So, at this perfect time of year, I sat down with OCTEEL to talk about the joys of being a monster artist—and some of the challenges that come with bringing these creatures to life.

This interview will be presented in two parts.

So, come with us into the world of OCTEEL and monsters.

And now, let's hear from the man who creates the monsters.

  • Do we preserve languages, or make them dance?
    2026/07/27

this episode 100 % English episode but ....

This is the second episode of our Endangered Languages series.

This time, we explored Gujarati from India and Quebec French from Canada.

I used to believe that preserving a language was the responsibility of its native speakers. But as I researched and listened to different perspectives, I realized something else.

Sometimes, the people who feel the least obligation to protect a language can become the ones who give it new life. They sing it, speak it, and share it with the world.

So the path we choose at Global Passport is clear.

We don't just preserve languages—we make them dance.
