Welcome to The 3L’s Podcast, a raw, unfiltered, and hilarious take on marriage, relationships, parenting, money, and everything in between.

We’re a husband-and-wife duo, married nearly 15 years with four kids and more stories than we can count. Each week, we dive into the highs and lows of building a life together, from dating and raising children to navigating finances, intimacy, and family drama.

We’ll also break down the money moves and mindset shifts that help couples build wealth and create a legacy for their families. Because love is great, but generational impact? That’s the real goal.

Expect real talk, laughter, a little bit of raunchiness (because marriage isn’t always PG), and lessons we’ve learned along the way. Whether you’re dating, newly married, knee-deep in parenting, or just curious how couples make it work, this is the podcast for you.

  • She Helped Me Escape My Abusive Ex… Then Started Dating Him | The 3L's Podcast Ep 56
    2026/09/11

Would you ever date your friend’s ex? What if you knew the relationship was abusive?

This week on the 3L Podcast, Emmanuel and Mimi get into a difficult conversation about friendship, loyalty, relationships and whether people deserve a second chance after a damaging past.

The dilemma takes things to another level. A woman escapes an abusive relationship with the help of one of her closest friends. Her friend comes to her flat at midnight, helps her leave, listens to the details of the abuse and supports her through the aftermath. Then months later, she finds out through Instagram that the same friend is secretly dating her abusive ex.

The friend says she “couldn’t help” falling for him. But was this love, or the ultimate betrayal?

We debate whether dating a friend’s ex should ever be acceptable, whether enough time passing changes the rules, and whether a person’s abusive past should define who they are forever. If someone goes to therapy, changes their behaviour and becomes a different person, do they deserve another chance? Or should your loyalty to your friend make their ex permanently off limits?

We also discuss the uncomfortable question behind the dilemma. Did the friend develop feelings afterwards, or did she secretly want him all along?

Main points: • Should your friend’s ex always be off limits? • Does time change the rules? • Do people with abusive pasts deserve second chances? • Is secretly dating your friend’s ex an unforgivable betrayal? • Should you tell friends everything about your relationship? • Did she support her friend, or study the relationship because she wanted him? • Where should friendship boundaries begin and end?

What would you do if your closest friend started dating the person who hurt you?

  • He Married Her Like This… Then Told Her to COVER UP! | The 3L's Podcast Ep 55
    2026/09/04

Can Your Husband Tell You What to Wear?

Where does having an opinion about your partner’s clothes end, and controlling them begin?

In this episode of the 3L Podcast, Eman and Mimi get into a heated conversation about clothing, modesty, marriage and control. If your partner met you dressing a certain way, is it fair for them to expect you to change once you get married?

Eman argues that some men are attracted to confident women who dress a certain way, then suddenly expect them to cover up after marriage. Mimi questions where the line sits between respecting your partner’s feelings and slowly losing the freedom to express yourself.

    Then comes this week’s dilemma.

A woman says her husband fell in love with her while she wore fitted, revealing clothes. Six months into their marriage, the comments started. He never directly told her what she was allowed to wear, but eventually she found herself putting clothes back in shops because she already knew what he would say.

So is this a husband expressing his feelings, or control without ever saying the words “you’re not allowed”?

Main points: • Should your spouse have a say in what you wear? • Does marriage change what is appropriate? • When does preference become control? • Is asking your partner to dress modestly reasonable? • Should you change how you dress after marriage? • Is the same standard applied when wives choose their husbands’ clothes?

Where do you draw the line between love, respect and control?

  • She Earns DOUBLE His Salary… Now He Wants Her to Stay Home | The 3L's Podcast Ep 54
    2026/08/28

Should Gender Roles Still Exist in Marriage?

Are traditional gender roles outdated, or are modern relationships struggling because nobody knows their role anymore?

In this episode of the 3R Podcast, Emmanuel and Miriam get into a heated conversation about gender roles, leadership, money, housework and expectations within marriage.

Should a husband lead the home? If so, what does leadership look like in practice? Should women still be expected to cook, clean and take primary responsibility for the children? And what happens when the wife earns significantly more than her husband?

This week’s dilemma brings the debate to life. A woman earns more than double her husband’s salary. Before marriage, he told her her career and income did not bother him. Years later, his attitude has changed. He now wants her to travel less, spend more time at home and consider slowing down her career after their next child.

The problem? She has realised he never accepted the woman she was. He was waiting for marriage and motherhood to change her.

This leads Emmanuel and Miriam into a wider conversation about whether couples need gender roles at all, or whether successful marriages simply need clearly defined responsibilities.

    Main points:

    • Should husbands lead their wives? • Are traditional gender roles making a comeback? • What happens when the wife becomes the breadwinner? • Should a woman sacrifice her career for her family? • Leadership versus control within marriage • Why couples need to discuss expectations before having children • The hidden mental load behind running a household • Why marriage needs clear roles, even if those roles are not based on gender

Would you sacrifice your career for your marriage? And if your partner earned twice your salary, would you expect them to slow down?
