Semester Two, Module Two:
Inclusive Emergency Preparedness: The Workshop
This second module on inclusive emergency preparedness features the proceedings of a workshop. The first module features a presentation by CEO Melanie Taddeo during National Seniors Month (see Semester Two, Module One).
This module features the complete proceedings of a workshop co-produced by Connect4Life and Centennial College. This half-day workshop delivered practical tips for seniors and people with disabilities on how to be prepared in the event of an emergency or natural disaster.
The workshop was delivered in the Auditorium at the Ashtonbee Campus of Centennial College in Scarborough on May 15, 2026.
Partners included Canadian Red Cross, the Weather Network, Ontario Ministry of Emergency Preparedness, Toronto Fire, Toronto Police Service and Toronto Paramedics. Media partners included the campus radio stations and media networks of Toronto Metropolitan University, George Brown Polytechnic and University of Toronto-Scarborough.
Special guests incuded the Consul General of Ghana, Excellency Peter Taylor, Member of Parliament Salma Zahid, and Member of Provincial Parliament David Smith (who is pictured in this episode's thumbnail image).
