Semester One, Session Four of the Connect4Life Learning Channel

This learning series was delivered as a collection of webinars and workshops, originally a 12-part video compilation of training and sensitivity learning modules. We offer these sessions as archival and historic learning material.

In this session we discuss inclusivity by design and unlocking the power of accessibility for all.

This module raises awareness about accessibility, facilitates an understanding of legal and ethical considerations, explores inclusive design principles, and fosters empathy & inclusive mindsets.

Topics explored includes people of all abilities terminology, understanding disability & the importance of accessibility, the importance of an inclusive environment, how empowerment fosters independence, diverse perspectives & talent, social cohesion & unity, human rights & dignity, customer & client satisfaction, compliance with laws & regulations, positive social change, benefits of inclusion, disadvantages of non-accessible environments, barriers & challenges, inclusive workplace and education practices, communication & language, empathy & advocacy, creating accessible presentations, and strategies on how to implement inclusive spaces.
