In this brief episode, Jessica shares her perspective on the difference between being brave and being braveAF. She believes one is built on confidence, one is built in spite of its absence, but both require you to show up.

Jessica also shares a few updates about a future change coming soon to the BraveAF podcast and business that she wants listeners to be prepared for - with more details to follow.

Your Story Matters

BraveAF creates conversations and coaching for people ready to show up and change their lives.

Jessica is an empowerment coach, speaker, and host of the BraveAF Podcast, and founder of BraveAF Coaching. After navigating trauma, reinvention, and life's unexpected pivots, she discovered what it means to show up BraveAF — when she wasn't sure how, and she wasn't even sure if she wanted to. She created the 5:1 Method from experience, not theory.

Jessica helps people stuck in a cycle of overthinking start writing their next chapter by taking simple, courageous steps forward. Her coaching style is honest, compassionate and action-focused with equal parts truth, accountability and belief in what's possible.

What if you don’t need another plan, more confidence, or more information? What if you already know enough—and what you really need is to trust yourself?

This week I sit down with Carol Elizabeth, transformational coach, speaker, author of Trust Your Magic, and founder of Grow for It Coaching, for an honest, funny, and deeply practical conversation about reinvention, resilience, and building a life that genuinely feels like yours.

Carol shares the breadcrumb trail that carried her through motherhood, divorce, fitness, entrepreneurship, breast cancer, and starting over in her 50s. Her story is a powerful reminder that transformation rarely begins when you feel completely ready. It begins when you take responsibility for your life, trust the nudge in front of you, and make your next move.

In this episode, you’ll discover:

• Why the story you tell yourself can matter more than your circumstances
• How Carol’s “stick trick” can interrupt a spiral and shift your energy
• Why focusing on what feels good isn’t avoidance—it’s a strategy
• The difference between taking responsibility and blaming yourself
• How to recognize when a quiet nudge may be pointing toward your next step
• Why action matters more than perfect timing, branding, or confidence

If you know you’re meant for more but keep getting pulled back by fear, other people’s opinions, or your own inner critic, this conversation is for you. You may not need another answer. You may simply need to trust yourself enough to move.

Beach Breakdown : Pick a Different Stick

After spending some intentional time alone during a recent beach trip, I had a few realizations about where I’ve been placing my energy, what I’ve been holding onto, and the version of myself I’m ready to release.

In this episode, I share a lesson from Carol Elizabeth’s book Trust Your Magic that asks us to picture the different parts of our lives as sticks in a pile and the power of which stick you focus on.

I talk about:

• Creating enough stillness to hear what’s really going on beneath the noise
• Noticing where your attention and energy are going
• Protecting the beliefs that keep you grounded
• Interrupting the spiral when something goes wrong
• Releasing identities and personas that no longer feel true
• Being honest with yourself during seasons of transition
• Taking the next step before you have everything figured out

If you’ve been feeling like something in your life needs to shift—but you’re not completely sure what comes next—this episode is an invitation to get still, get honest, and listen.
