Janet Wampler, one of two mayoral candidates running to be the first mayor of Ogden Valley. Janet has lived and served in this community for years, holding leadership positions such as Planning Commission Chair and working on the Incorporation Transition Team. Her background in strategic planning, smart growth, and financial stewardship makes her a strong voice in conversations about what’s next for the valley.

A journalist, urban planner, conservation advocate, and founder of The Ogden Valley News, Shanna holds dual master’s degrees in Public Administration (with an urban planning emphasis) and Middle East Studies, and has completed graduate coursework toward two PhDs. Her long-standing service includes time as vice-chair of the Ogden Valley Planning Commission and chair of the Ogden Valley Land Trust—roles that exemplify her deep roots in local governance, environmental stewardship, and strategic planning.
