  • #97 - The Secret to Discipline No One Tells You
    2026/07/09

There is a beautifully encouraging truth about discipline that many miss. We think of discipline with a harsh tone, that we always need to make the hard decision. And that is somewhat true, but it doesn’t have to feel this way.

In today’s solo episode, Tommy opens with a heartfelt email from a Weekly Reframe reader, rounding off the episode with the beautiful truth of discipline that you can begin again every day.

  • #95 [Guest] Kilian Korth - The Difference Between Failure and Quitting
    2026/06/25

Kilian Korth swept the Triple Crown of 200s in 2025, becoming the first man to take Tahoe 200, Bigfoot 200 and Moab 240 outright in the same season. He also set a new course record at Cocodona 250. But before any of that, his record was three DNFs, a torn hamstring, and a finish at Cocodona that landed him in the ICU.

Tommy and Kilian talk about the line between failure and quitting, the difference between self belief and self efficacy, and why letting go of outcomes made Kilian faster, not slower. They get into ego and the stories we tell ourselves about who we are and what we deserve, and why presence and gratitude have become Kilian's most reliable tools, both in racing and in recovering from ankle surgery.

They also talk about the commercialisation of ultra running, the politics and tribalism creeping into trail running culture, and what actually unites runners once you strip away the noise of social media.

  • #94 [Guest] Rachel Entrekin - Logic Over Limiting Beliefs
    2026/06/18

Rachel Entrekin is HER! Having recently broken the course record at Cocodona 250 and becoming the first woman to win outright, she has flown into long-awaited global recognition. And there is no better role model to be at the top of the sport of ultra running right now.

In this conversation, Tommy chats with Rachel about challenging limiting beliefs, race day narrative control, facing yourself in hard moments, the strange realities of succeeding as a woman, ultra running as both an art and a science, and the importance of self care.

  • #93 - Why Both Discipline and Compassion Matter
    2026/06/11

Explore the two voices that exist inside all of us: the “soft voice” that seeks comfort, safety and rest, and the “hard voice” that demands discipline, resilience pushing.

Through the lens of running, training and everyday life, Tommy discusses why both voices are necessary, how both can become dangerous when taken to extremes, and why true wisdom lies in knowing which one deserves your attention and when.

This is a conversation about self awareness, balance, ambition, recovery and learning when to push harder and when to pull back.

  • #92 - Can running make you MORE stressed?
    2026/06/04

Running is often described as one of the best tools for managing stress, improving mental health, and helping us cope with the demands of life. But what happens when the very thing we use to manage stress becomes another source of it?

Today, we explore the complicated relationship between running and stress. Although we think of running as an escape, training itself is a stressor. Mileage, intensity, strength training, work, travel, relationships, poor sleep, bad news, financial worry, and life responsibilities all place demands on the same system.

In this episode, Tommy discusses why the body doesn't distinguish between different types of stress, how running can both help and hinder our wellbeing, and why learning to tune into your own stress levels is one of the most important skills any runner can develop.

Whether you're training for your first 10K, an ultra marathon, or simply trying to balance running with a busy life, this episode will help you better understand the true cost of training and how to avoid turning something you love into another source of overwhelm.

  • #91 - Stop Choosing Between Performance and Happiness
    2026/05/21

Tommy reflects on the response to the documentary, An Invitation To Run Differently, and explores the relationship between performance, happiness, and perspective in modern running culture.

So many runners begin because running brings peace, freedom, confidence, and clarity - only to slowly become consumed by metrics, comparison, optimisation, and pressure.

But does enjoying running really mean sacrificing performance?

Tommy discusses why enjoyment and ambition are not opposites, how obsession with data can damage your relationship with running, and why presence, gratitude, and perspective may actually improve long-term performance.

This episode is a reminder that you can train hard, chase goals, and care about improvement without losing sight of the deeper reasons you run in the first place.
