  • Episode 114 - Florida!!!
    2025/05/02

Rachel dressed up for this episode and is totally in her "Miami Vice" era. Sam on the other hand NEEDS a vacation. Someone take us to Florida!!! We answer a fun lil' Taylor Swift-themed questionnaire, and boy was it difficult! Send us your answers to the questionnaire too! Our new shit segment brought in some classical music and some chill indie rock vibes. Sam chose the song Florida!!! to discuss this week because he thought they could use an escape from last week's sad song. And what an escape it was! Taylor and Florence both sing about wanting to escape their lives, their pasts, their relationships, etc, and go to a place like Florida, whether that's literal or metaphorical. We all have a Florida we like to escape to and forget about our lives back home. But for Taylor, what really is home anymore?

  • Episode 113 - You're Losing Me
    2025/04/25

Happy birthday to The Tortured Poets Department album! To celebrate, we begin this episode with a very fun challenge: Ranking every song off the entire TTPD + Anthology album! Sam felt self-counscious about his choices, Rachel reassured him that his opinions are valid, and together the sibs drank everytime they had the same song in the same spot! Turns out, Rachel and Sam both have the same #1 song. Can you guess which song it is?

Then, the sibs delve into one of Rachel's most favorite Taylor Swift songs of all time. In fact, it's in her top 10! It's about time they tackle this one. But why did Taylor release this song AFTER the Midnights album came out. And was this the final straw for her relationship with Joe Alwyn, or just one fight that would later lead to the end of the relationship? Rachel cries and Sam tries to understand. Just FEEL something, babe!

  • Episode 112 - the last great american dynasty
    2025/04/18

Even though this is Rachel's birthday episode, Sam finds a way to make it about him. Classic little brother move. How did it take us 112 episodes to finally break down one of our most favorite tracks from folklore? All we know is it was worth the wait. The spirit and lore and TWIST of it all for this song made this one of the more fun episodes we've discussed in a while. Of course, we couldn't just dive into the song right away. We had to spill some Taylor Tea.... Sam insists on going into yet another discussion about Reputation (Taylor's Version). Rachel seems to think TS12 is in the works, but Sam isn't so sure Taylor has enough inspiration to release that album yet. What do you all think? Our new shit brings Bon Iver and Billie Marten into the conversation. Sam is still on his month-long cleanse, so he brings a cocktail idea to pair with this song. Rachel, meanwhile, goes FULL IN. We reveal there's going to be a major twist in this song, but you have to wait until we get there to find out what it is (in the rare event you have no idea already). Rachel finds a way to connect Taylor's songwriting to her relationship with Joe Alwyn. Fine, we'll give it to her. Overall, we had a MARVELOUS time ruining everything this episode and we hope you enjoy!!!

  • Episode 111 - Clara Bow
    2025/04/11

The album closer to the standard edition of The Tortured Poets is one that hit us pretty hard, and evoked a lot of emotions in both of them! Needless to say, we were both very excited to get into this episode. But first! We chose to rank EVERY. SINGLE. TAYLOR. SWIFT. SONG. EVER!!!!! In this episode, we share with you our bottom songs and our top songs of the entire discography. Let us know if you'd like us to share our entire ranking with you! And click the link below to rank the songs yourselves! The spirit of the song Clara Bow was a topic we discussed in great length for this episode. Not only about the message this song evokes, but also why it was chosen as the album closer. Taylor shows off her brilliant story telling with this song, with quite a twist at the end that makes Sam get all choked up every time he hears it.

  • Episode 110 - That's When
    2025/04/04

Rachel has some VERY EXCITING NEWS to share with us at the beginning of the episode. And it has nothing to do with Taylor Swift except it has EVERYTHING to do with Taylor Swift. Have so much fun on this next adventure Rachel! Sam reveals he ranked every single song off The Tortured Poets Department, and he's encouraged Rachel to do the same to share in a future episode. We share some podcast news and discuss our thoughts on Reputation Taylor's Version (because of course). Our new shit had us paying homage to some of our favorite indie artists! Then we break down the Swift of the week and pair some much needed cocktails to this great song off the Fearlesss Taylor's Version vault. Why is this song so confusing? And was Taylor Swift inspired by her 2021 relationship with Joe Alywn when she released this?

  • Episode 109 - Safe and Sound
    2025/03/28

In this week's episode, we play some games!!! Any by games, we mean Buzzfeed quizzes for Swifties. Let's find out where we're going on vacation! But first, we had to discuss the iHeart Radio Music Awards! Is this the end of awards season? We both chose the same song to discuss for our "new shit" segment, and boy are we into it! The song we discuss this week was different than any other one we've done before. Taylor was inspired to write this song not based on events she's experienced in her own life (maybe?), but rather from reading the Hunger Games book. Sam almost falls asleep from his cocktail, and Rachel took a morbid route with hers. There aren't too many lyrics to discuss with this one, but the sounds we hear are beautiful and haunting.

  • Episode 108 - My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys
    2025/03/21

Boy oh boy, we're breaking into another favorite episode. And this one shines like a brand new toy! Somehow Eminem enters the chat, and Sam definitely did not invite him. New shit!! Lizzo!! And her being the confident queen that she is!! Role Model!! Sam feels like a Gen Z for loving this new artist he's discovered! Tapping into the episode, we can't help but connect this Tortured Poets Department song to the iconic film Toy Story. Is Sam's favorite movie also Taylor's favorite movie? Probably not. We discuss which boy Taylor claims is always breaking his favorite toys, and why the metaphor of Taylor being a "sick army doll" is so important. Please let us know your thoughts on this episode and if there's anything we've missed!

  • Episode 107 - Mastermind
    2025/03/14

We’re getting excited for an upcoming potential Taylor Swift appearance at the iHeart Radio Music Awards! Sam is adamant that he won’t be clowning for anything, but that doesn’t mean we both won’t be watching with anticipation! The episode goes off on a bit of a tangent about Taylor’s style and who exactly is behind her fashion choices. Then we discuss Travis Kelce’s potential retirement and what that may look like for us Swifties. Our New Shit segment had us both talking about the same album and artist: Lady Gaga and Mayhem! We both love this album so much and discuss our favorites from it. The song of the week has us praising and applauding Taylor for her genius! But, naturally, we dig a little deeper to reveal our theories on how this song is more than just being cheeky and revealing. Taylor Swift is a mastermind by hiding her anxious feelings about the unravelling of her relationship with Joe Alwyn. Let us know what you think about our thoughts!
