    Tim Stout
“How A Pro MMA Career Paved the Way for Real Estate Success”

This time, I had the pleasure of chatting with Tim Stout, former professional fighter turned real estate mogul. Tim’s journey is nothing short of inspiring, and I can’t wait for you to dive into our conversation. Tim, also known by his fight nickname "MOAB" (Massive Ordnance Air Blast), earned the title for his explosive, powerful presence in the ring. The nickname reflects his intense fighting style and the impact he had on opponents.

Tim began his journey in martial arts at age seven and went on to become a professional MMA and kickboxing fighter, eventually competing in Strikeforce. With a pro MMA record of 16 wins and 10 losses, including 8 knockouts, 3 submissions, Tim’s career was forged in real competition. Today, he’s known not just for his fight record but for building a thriving real estate business grounded in the same discipline and drive that fuelled his years in the cage.As Tim grew up, his passion for combat sports expanded into tough man competitions—venues where he could test himself against untrained but determined opponents. One humbling session with a jiu-jitsu instructor changed everything, leading Tim to train seriously in the art and ultimately go pro. Despite his success, Tim recognized the limitations of a long-term career in combat sports. The physical toll and financial uncertainty—especially while running a gym—pushed him to make a bold pivot: real estate.“You can’t teach tough.” For Tim, toughness is about mindset. It’s the ability to take a hit—literally or figuratively—and keep moving forward. This combat sports mindset became his greatest transferable skill. In business, just like in the ring, setbacks are inevitable. Tim credits his success in real estate to the same principles he used in fighting: staying calm under pressure, showing up consistently, and pushing forward even when things get hard. Confidence isn’t just a feeling—it’s something earned through repeated exposure to discomfort and challenge.Tim’s training philosophy is rooted in realism and development. For kids, he recommends boxing as the foundation—it builds confidence and helps them learn to manage fear and contact. He also values wrestling as a dominant, control-based discipline. For adults, particularly women, Tim stresses proactive, decisive action in dangerous situations, focusing on targeting vital areas like the eyes, throat, and groin. And for law enforcement, he advocates for training that bridges the gap between sport and survival—equipping officers with practical, hands-on skills to reduce reliance on weapons and improve outcomes in the field.Today, Tim splits his time between leading one of the region’s top real estate teams and running his gym, Independent MMA & Fitness in Newnan, Georgia, where clients from 20 to 55 train not to hurt, but to learn. His advice spans far beyond the mat: be proactive, build confidence early, and never underestimate the power of physical and mental preparation. From the dojo to the closing table, Tim Stout’s life proves that real-world resilience is the ultimate transferable skill.🔗 Connect with Tim on:Instagram:Self-defense: @themoabstout - https://www.instagram.com/themoabstout/Real estate: @timstout - https://www.instagram.com/thetimstout/Facebook: Tim Stout (for both real estate and self-defense content)YouTube: Tim Stout (search his name for his channel)Real Estate Website: realestateblackbelt.comGym Website: independentmmafitness-newnan.com (Independent MMA and Fitness, Newnan, GA)I am Damian Porter , Former NZ Special Forces Operator, Subject Matter Expert from www.hownottodieguy.com and www.eatwellmovewell.netAnd you are listening to my STRAIGHT TALK MIND AND MUSCLE PODCAST sponsored by www.mystait.com - the ultimate daily formula for optimum hormone health, stress management, energy and performance. 100% natural and clinically proven ingredients, it provides everything you need to raise your game, in a convenient gut-friendly capsule.

  • Bill Fahy “How I Nearly Got Robbed By A Honey Pot and Her Boyfriend”

    2025/04/02

Bill Fahy is a Texas-based website designer and firearms instructor with extensive experience in self-defense and situational awareness. Despite his background, Bill faced a potentially dangerous situation that emphasized the importance of constant vigilance.

In addition to his professional work, Bill is also a passionate advocate for veterans' mental health, actively supporting Camp Hope, a vital initiative aiding veterans suffering from PTSD.

Back to Bill’s story. Despite his training, he ignored initial warning signs, like as a suspiciously parked car and a seemingly innocent young woman engaging him in conversation. His gut instinct told him something was off, yet he dismissed it.

Fortunately, when the situation escalated, Bill's quick thinking and assertive response deterred the potential threat. This experience reinforced a critical lesson: even experienced individuals can become complacent, making consistent awareness and preparedness essential.

Here are key insights for enhancing personal safety:

Trust Your Instincts: Bill emphasized the importance of trusting your gut feelings. If something feels off, it probably is. Don’t be afraid to leave a situation if it doesn’t feel right.

Be Present and Aware: Avoid distractions like headphones or your phone when you’re out in public. Pay attention to the people around you and be proactive about your safety.

Project Confidence: Bad guys often prey on the weak. Projecting confidence and awareness can deter potential threats.

Avoid Distractions: Remain aware of your surroundings by avoiding distractions like headphones or excessive phone use in public spaces.

Have a Plan: Always know your exit routes, and consider carrying self-defense tools when appropriate.

Beyond his safety insights, Bill's advocacy for veterans shines through his involvement with Camp Hope. This organization provides immediate assistance to veterans dealing with PTSD, offering free accommodations and community support from fellow veterans. Bill’s dedication to this cause highlights the urgent need for mental health resources for those who have served.

Bill started his career in technology, opening FDI Creative Services, a website development firm, in 1996 in Chicago, Illinois. Bill is also a firearms enthusiast and competitive shooter, competing in IPSC matches for most of his adult life.

Bill's main focus in the web design field is to help Firearm dealers, Hunting and Fishing Outfitters, as well as various other industries build their business through web design and Internet Marketing.

This passion led Bill to Partner with Mark Atchison, an NRA pistol instructor and Federal Firearms Licensee. Together, they built www.everythinggun.com, evgun.com and armsads.com. These websites provide online shopping for firearms and gear in addition to pistol training and Conceal Carry Licensing.

  • “The Evolution of U.S. Marine Corps Special Operations”: Insights from John Dailey
    2025/03/17

“The Evolution of U.S. Marine Corps Special Operations”: Insights from John Dailey

John Dailey is a retired Marine Force Recon sniper and member of Detachment One, the first USMC unit in SOCOM. A veteran of Afghanistan and Iraq, he now trains Marine Raiders and holds multiple master’s degrees, including an MFA in creative writing. He is also the author of Tough Rugged Bastards.

Over the course of his career, John played a pivotal role in shaping the Marine Corps' special operations capabilities, including the formation of the Marine Raiders. From his early days in Force Recon to deploying alongside Navy SEALs in Iraq, John's experience spans some of the most transformative moments in modern military history.

In this episode, John shares a powerful insight that has shaped both his military career and his life beyond service:

"When the mission changes, your mindset must change with it. Adaptability isn’t just a skill; it’s a survival tool.”

This mindset defined John's ability to lead through shifting roles, new threats, and unexpected challenges. After 9/11, as the Marine Corps was tasked with creating a new special operations unit, John found himself at the forefront of this transformation.

Working alongside Colonel Robert Coates, John helped form the Marine Corps' first special operations unit, which would later become the Marine Raiders. Their initial deployment alongside Navy SEALs in Iraq in 2004 marked a turning point for the Marine Corps' role in SOCOM and the wider special operations landscape.

John’s philosophy on leadership, adaptability, and teamwork is deeply rooted in his military experience. He emphasizes that even support roles — mechanics, medics, and administrative staff — were vital to mission success. "Everybody fights," John recalls. "That mindset kept us prepared for anything.”

Mental Fortitude and Problem-Solving: The ability to navigate high-stress situations and solve problems under pressure is crucial in special operations. John’s resilience and growth throughout his career serve as an inspiration for aspiring operators and veterans alike.

Since retiring, John has continued to share his insights on leadership, resilience, and the importance of finding purpose after military service. His book, Tough Rugged Bastards, blends personal stories with actionable lessons for overcoming adversity and embracing change.

For those navigating their own transitions — whether in the military, corporate world, or personal life — John’s message is clear: adaptability, teamwork, and purpose are the cornerstones of success.

John’s remarkable journey, from the sands of Iraq to mentoring others through his writing, stands as a testament to the power of perseverance and the enduring strength of the Marine Corps spirit.

Why You Should Listen: This episode is a deep dive into the world of special operations, filled with historical context, personal stories, and valuable lessons. Whether you’re a military enthusiast, a history buff, or someone looking for inspiration, John Daly’s experiences and insights are sure to captivate you.

  • VOL WEST “Learning to Think, Move, and Fight Smart.”
    2025/03/07

Survival isn’t about theory—it’s about understanding THE TRUTH ABOUT FIGHTING and acting accordingly.

In this episode, I sit down with Vol West, a Frenchman turned American, with real-world expertise in survival, combatives, and firearms.

His journey—from the unpredictable streets of 1980s Paris to military service and running Station Nine, a company producing knives and gear for special forces—is a masterclass in preparedness, adaptability, and hard-earned wisdom.

    Key Takeaways:

🔹 Simple Wins Fights – Vol cuts through the noise: Forget flashy moves, focus on what works. Running, thinking, and wearing the right shoes might be your best self-defense tools.

🔹 Understanding Violence – The reality? Most self-defense training fails against real aggression. Vol explains why sport-based martial arts can create a false sense of security and how to train for real-world survival.

🔹 Your Mind is the Weapon – Violence is psychological as much as physical. If you aren’t mentally prepared, you’re already at a disadvantage. Vol shares mental conditioning techniques to keep you ahead of danger.

🔹 Gear That Works When It Matters – Station Nine builds knives and tools designed for those who don’t get second chances. From WWI-inspired escape tools to modern-day survival gear, Vol shares how history shapes innovation.

🔹 Situational Awareness: The Skill That Keeps You Alive – Avoiding a fight is better than winning one. Vol’s method? Stay out of weird places, at weird times, with weird people.

    Bottom Line:

Self-defense isn’t a hobby—it’s a mindset. Vol West doesn’t just talk about survival—he’s lived it. Tune in for a hard-hitting conversation on what it really takes to adapt, overcome, and win when it counts.

Brooke ran 1,600 km across Australia in just 27 days to raise awareness for mental health. Now, she’s preparing for an even greater challenge—running acrossthe entire continent, averaging 80 km per day for 180 days.

Brooke’s journey with mental health began at 12 after facing significant trauma. Instead of letting it define her, she turned her struggles into a mission—advocating for open conversations, particularly in high-stress, male-dominated FIFO (fly-in, fly-out) mining industries. She knows firsthand that breaking the silence can save lives.

Brooke’s Journey: From Trauma to Triumph

Brooke’s story isn’t just about endurance—it’s about survival and transformation. After experiencing sexual assault at 12, 14, and 24, she faced battles with anxiety, depression, and substance abuse. But instead of being consumed by pain, she chose to fight back.

A major turning point came in August 2022 when she survived a serious car accident. That wake-up call led her to redefine her purpose, and running became her way to heal—not just herself, but others struggling in silence.
