Episode 97: Slice of the Paranormal had to check out the haunted legends of Marietta, Pennsylvania on the advice of our friend Rick Fisher. This historic river town is packed with ghost stories, haunted locations, eerie folklore, and one of Pennsylvania's strangest werewolf legends.

Our first stop was the Railroad House Inn, one of the most haunted places in Marietta. The inn is said to be haunted by a former owner, former guests, and a mysterious woman searching for love. Sadly, it was closed when we arrived, so we could not grab any spirits there. Instead, we headed down the street to Shanks Tavern.

Shanks Tavern has some great food and is filled with ghosts. Visitors and staff have reported seeing headless figures entering the bar, hearing ghostly laughter, spotting a woman dressed in black looking out an upstairs window, and even smelling the scent of perfume with no one around.

Before leaving this historic Pennsylvania river town, we stopped at the legendary Hans Graf Cemetery. Local folklore says Hans Graf was bitten by a werewolf, and many believe a ghostly white werewolf can still be seen and heard at this cemetery. To explore this hidden God's Acre, you have to climb over the old stone wall. Just remember the local warning. Do not walk around the cemetery seven times, or the legend says you will die!

Episode 96: Slice of the Paranormal returns to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, to investigate three of the town's most haunted Civil War landmarks and explore the chilling ghost stories that continue to surround them.

First, we visit the Widow Thompson House, better known as Lee's Headquarters, where General Robert E. Lee established his command during the first day of the Battle of Gettysburg. Perched on Seminary Ridge, the home witnessed the horrors of relentless cannon fire and musket volleys as soldiers fell by the hundreds. The dead reportedly surrounded the house, while bodies were gathered and stacked in a cellar across the road to clear the way for Lee's arrival. Many believe the battle still echoes outside these historic walls, and some say the spirit of the Widow Thompson herself still lingers. The cellar across the street is also said to have been haunted by the ghost of a soldier trapped beneath a mountain of fallen comrades, whose restless spirit reportedly found peace only after a priest performed an exorcism. That historic cellar still stands today.

Next, we stop for some spirits at the legendary Dobbin House Tavern, one of Gettysburg's oldest and most haunted buildings. Visitors and staff alike have reported sightings of Alexander Dobbin's ghost, along with Civil War soldiers, enslaved individuals, and colonial-era women who are said to still walk the halls. Mr. Dobbin lost several children while living in the home, and the sounds of children laughing and playing have reportedly been heard throughout the property. One guest even captured a photograph inside the tavern that may reveal one of these mysterious spirits.

We conclude our investigation at Spangler's Spring, a peaceful location that provided much-needed fresh water to Union and Confederate soldiers during the Battle of Gettysburg in July 1863. While visitors can no longer drink from the historic spring as they once could, many still come hoping to encounter the famous Woman in White, whose ghostly appearances have sparked decades of debate about her true identity. Is she a Civil War nurse, a grieving widow, or something else entirely?

Episode 95: Slice of the Paranormal delves into the mysterious, gelatinous mass of interstellar Red Silicone Acetate, better known as The Blob. Join us as we explore the iconic 1958 horror movie filming locations in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, including the famous Colonial Theatre, home of the annual Blobfest celebration honoring one of the greatest classic sci-fi horror films ever made.

While visiting these legendary The Blob filming locations, we even experienced an unexpected paranormal encounter while eating pizza, adding another layer of mystery to our investigation.

We also ask the question: Why is The Blob celebrated every year with Blobfest in Phoenixville, PA, and could the story actually be inspired by a real-life event? We examine reports of mysterious falling objects, UFO lore, and the famous 1950 newspaper account of a strange gelatinous substance that dissolved after being discovered.

Could an extraterrestrial organism really survive the harsh conditions of space travel aboard a meteorite before growing on another planet's surface? Is The Blob simply a classic science fiction monster, or could there be a surprising connection to real-world mysteries, alien encounters, and unexplained phenomena?
