Coach Wes Croy of the Maysville Wolverines and Coach Scott Stevens of the Trenton Bulldogs continue their look at their shared past as Coach and Player in 2005-2007 and their first upcoming game as competing coaches this week in Maysville, Missouri. We get into how to build a program, getting buy-in and commitment and some of the core principles they share. Every wonder what coaches drill on at practice that you may never see in a game; we get the inside scoop! Coach Croy helped build the Trenton Bulldog traditions at C.F. Russell Stadium and Coach Stevens is carrying them on and building on those traditions and standards. Part Two has some category fun at the end with talk about music in the locker room (yes or no?), and the greatest fictionalized coaches speeches in movie history!

Show-Me Sports Legacies takes a story approach to learning about high school, junior college, D2 & D1 college sports and our beloved professional franchises in Kansas City and St. Louis. We talk to people who have made their mark as coaches, players, scouts and business people after coming from small towns or little known communities or neighborhoods. We talk to people who are seeking to establish their reputation and break into sports career success. With a fan's perspective we look at how to encourage and support people who have that sporting dream.

Coaches teach and mentor players and often share great stories and accomplishments. Sometimes those players take what they've learned and become coaches in their own right. This leads us to today's episode with Coach Wes Croy of Maysville, Missouri and Coach Scott Stevens of Trenton, MIssouri whose teams will meet this week on the gridiron. Coach Croy is the 2nd winningest coach in Trenton Bulldog Football history and coached Scott Stevens when he ran for 2004 career yards and helped lead their 2007 team to an 11-1 season and a state quarterfinal appearance. They talk about great times together, the path they have each taken in their coaching careers and their upcoming matchup. Along the way our crew taste tests Fried Pies from Jamesport and talks great fictionalized coaches speeches in sports movies! Step inside the locker room and let's talk football!

We go deep in the numbers game and explore counting records for Missouri High School athletes in basketball, football and volleyball through the efforts of our guest, Kent Mueller, Founder of MissouriMilestones.com. Missouri Milestones is an ambitious effort to create a database of all 1000 point scorers in Missouri basketball history, 2000 yard rushers and 4000 yard passers in football and many other statistics. Behind all the numbers and names are stories and memories and our deep dive brings up lots of memorable North Missouri players from the distant and recent past. A new website feature is the College Edition of Missouri Milestones which tracks Missouri High School athletes who go on to play NCAA and NAIA athletics. Join us for a fun conversation with Kent, a spreadsheet guy who turned that skill into a huge sports hobby and an important historical record of players and their achievements. Sierra Michaelis, Cady Pauley, Jessica Reeter, Brooke Littrell and many other athletes are celebrated in this fun discussion.
