  • When You're Seeking Community
    2025/04/29

Melbournians have not forgotten that ours was the most locked down of cities in the effort to combat COVID. The social impact of the isolation years is something we've barely begun to study, though those impacted can tell you that the abrupt and severe curtail of community resulted in increased anxiety across the population.

Hayley Russell, founder of The Body Crew, joins me to discuss how engaging in habit building behaviour can also (re)build community.

  • When the Grocery Bill is Higher than the Car Payment
    2025/03/16

Returning empty-handed from the grocery yesterday, where bare shelves confronted my search for the oh-so-topical egg, created a Schedule Shift because this conversation with Ira Bailey is about managing food costs, building community, and working with farmers.

Ira is the Founder of Coshop.nz, a community-led food platform in New Zealand that aims to directly reconnect communities with growers and farms, through collective purchasing; providing fresher, healthier food with minimal carbon emissions. Coshop has recently been awarded multiple government grants, emphasising the validity of the endeavour and allowing further development. Coshop partners with two charities, Hauora Kai and Kaibosh, and their websites can be found below.

There's little to stop you from doing something similar in your neighbourhood; farm-to-table for the home!

Next week: Back to our previously promised Shelley Henkel, who amongst many other things, is qualified in Somatic Based, Trauma-Informed and Responsive Yoga, allowing her a deep understanding of the neurological impact from trauma. She shares this knowledge with clients, showing them how to release built-up emotion, pain, and anxiety through connection to the body.

When embarking on any transformation programme, Shelley's insights will be invaluable for your success.

  • When Personal Transformation Intersects With Your Career
    2025/02/18

In this episode Katy Mixter, a passionate advocate for personal growth and purpose-driven careers, gave me the gift of her time. Katy shares what it was like for her to seek purpose while exploring fields like corporate sustainability and disaster reconstruction.

We had a great time considering the power of personal development in shaping a career aligned with your true purpose: Embracing our unique qualities, overcoming obstacles, tuning into what our emotions want us to know, and a quick stop at the intersected and dynamic relationship between fear, passion, and motivation.

Katy is wicked smart and I bet she's read more books than you. If you'd like to find out more, she has been generous enough to share her access channels:
