    2025/10/01

The Chaos Club | Spoon Space Season 2 Finale

Chaotic energy is real and it can drain your spoons before you even realize what’s happening. In this episode, I’m unpacking how chaotic energy shows up, how it transfers, and most importantly, how to protect your peace when someone else’s storm threatens to take you down with it.

We’re talking boundaries, rituals, energy checks, and that golden reminder: other people’s urgency is not your emergency. 🛑✨

This finale ties together everything we’ve been learning in Season 2, from spoons to boundaries to advocacy, and sends us into Season 3 with stronger tools for protecting our energy.

🎧 Listen now, take notes, and remember: chaos may knock, but it doesn’t get to move in.

  • 🏥 Prescription Discrimination 🤒
    2025/09/24

Let’s get real, racism in healthcare isn’t just a history book lesson 📚. It’s 2025, and Black patients are still being dismissed, ignored, and dying at higher rates than they should.

In this episode, we’re unpacking the truth:

⚖️ The roots of medical racism (yes, it started centuries ago… and it hasn’t gone away)

👩🏾‍🍼 The tragic story of Keira Johnson, a Black mother who died after her pleas for help were ignored postpartum

🩹 My own ER experiences of. being stereotyped, dismissed, and denied proper care

🔑 Why advocacy for Black spoonies isn’t optional but mandatory!

This episode is heavier than usual. Less spoonie sass, more storytelling + receipts. Because protecting your spoons means naming the systems that are stealing them. And racism? Is one of the biggest spoon thieves of all.

    ✨ Resources Mentioned:

    • 📊 CDC: Racial/Ethnic Disparities in Maternal Mortality (2023)
    • 📝 Hoffman et al., PNAS (2016): Racial bias in pain assessment & treatment
    • 💔 Charles Johnson’s advocacy for Keira Johnson: ForKiera.org
    • 🖤 Black Women’s Health Imperative: bwhi.org

🎧 Tap play. Get the education. Sit with the discomfort. Because silence protects the system — but our stories? They expose it.

  • ✨PROTECT ***YOUR*** POUR 🥹
    2025/09/17

    ✨ Episode 8 – Protect Your Pour ✨

You can’t pour from an empty spoon — period. 🥄✨

In this episode, we’re getting real about what it actually costs to give when you’re already running low. From the hidden drain of overexplaining your illness, to the guilt that comes with saying no, to learning how to only give from the overflow….. this is your reminder that protecting your spoons is protecting your peace.

We’re talking boundaries, energy checks, mental spoon math, and why “no” is a complete sentence. Plus, a Mini Spoon Break with a stat that’ll make you realize why chronic illness feels like a full-time job. 🕒

Think of this one as your permission slip to stop apologizing for resting, start saving your spoons, and let your overflow be the only thing people get access to. 🌸

Because survival isn’t selfish. It’s strategy.

    🌸✨ NEW EPISODE ✨🌸

“Reclaiming My Time” (yes, shoutout to Auntie Maxine 💅🏾) just dropped!

For too long, I let Crohn’s be the headline of my life … “the sick girl,” “Sunny with Crohn’s” 🙄 …but nah, baby. Not anymore.

This week, I’m spilling how I snatched the mic back, reclaimed my identity, and found me again outside of chronic illness.

    💃🏾 Dancing.

    🎶 Singing.

    🌻 Living.

And yes… still managing my spoons along the way.

Plus, a brand new Mini Spoon Break, because what’s Spoon Space without it? 🥄💫

Hit play, grab your tea, and let’s talk about why your illness is part of your story, but NOT your whole book. 📖

  • Symptoms Gone Wild!
    2025/09/03

    ✨ Episode 6 – Symptoms Gone Wild ✨

Autoimmune diseases don’t play fair. They don’t just stick to one body part — they crash the whole system. In this episode, we’re talking about what that really looks like, why your spoons disappear faster than you think, and how to actually protect them.

Think less “medical jargon,” more “FaceTime with your spoonie bestie”…. of course with education, a little humor, and a Mini Spoon break in the middle.

🎧 So… press play, and let’s laugh and learn together!

    ✨ Episode 4: Spoons, Friends & Flaky Plans ✨

Friendship hits different when you live with a chronic illness. From canceled plans to “nap before the nap” fatigue, sometimes being a good friend looks like knowing when to stay in and when to show up. In this episode, I’m getting real about the guilt era (hi, flaky queen 👋), the friends who actually get it, and why managing your spoons matters more than managing people’s expectations.

Oh — and this is the first episode with a Mini Spoon Break 🥄 … trust me, you’re gonna love it.

  • (Re)MISSION POSSIBLE
    2025/08/13

Spill the Spoon – Your space for questions, tea, and tales.

    🎙 Long episode alert!

This one runs a little longer than usual — but it’s the big finale of my Crohn’s story, so I had to give it the space it deserved.

From here on out, most episodes will be short and sweet, around 15 minutes or so — but today… we’re going out with a bang.

In Remission Possible, I’m taking you from begging for the bag, to living with a loop ileostomy during a pandemic, to finding unexpected healing in Costa Rica — and finally hearing the words I’d been waiting 20 years for: “You’re in remission.”

It’s raw, real, and packed with tips I wish I’d had — so maybe YOUR ROAD isn’t as hard. .
