  • Inside EMERGENCY: Working for Care in Crisis Settings

    More than half of the global population does not have full access to essential health services. Every year, around 100 million people are pushed into poverty because of medical costs. In Sierra Leone, maternal mortality remains among the highest worldwide, while Sudan’s ongoing conflict has destroyed most of the country’s healthcare system.

    In this episode, our hosts share their experiences from under-resourced wards in Freetown to hospitals under fire in Darfur.

    In 2025, the global situation for LGBTQI+ rights is deeply uneven. While some countries have advanced marriage equality and gender recognition laws, others are introducing harsh restrictions.In today’s episode, our hosts offer an overview of the Italian constitutional and legal framework for LGBTQI+ communities, clarifying misconceptions, analysing judicial progress, and highlighting what is still missing.

    Today’s hosts are Filippo Vaccari Orsini, student of Human Rights and Multilevel Governance, and Professor Michele Di Bari, alumnus of International Relations and Human Rights and Research Fellow in Comparative Public Law at the University of Padova.
