More than half of the global population does not have full access to essential health services. Every year, around 100 million people are pushed into poverty because of medical costs. In Sierra Leone, maternal mortality remains among the highest worldwide, while Sudan’s ongoing conflict has destroyed most of the country’s healthcare system.

In this episode, our hosts share their experiences from under-resourced wards in Freetown to hospitals under fire in Darfur.

Today’s hosts are Sofia Tamagni, student of Human Rights and Multilevel Governance, Asia Giavoni, alumna in European and Global Studies and Administrator for EMERGENCY ONG ETS, and Silvia Barlocco alumna in Human Rights and Multilevel Governance and Grants Specialist for EMERGENCY ONG ETS.
