    I've had a real unbalanced relationship with socials over the last few months, filled with moments of scrolling then overwhelmed with self doubt & not living in the present. Consumed with viewing people's past memories from a photo or being told I'm not living life correctly & I need to follow 'top tips' to be the best ever.... Mental burnout incoming.... I don't need tips I need time out of scrolling, to set boundaries with my screen time, to unfollow triggering accounts & find some time for my creativity to flow.

  • Talking Endometriosis with Jodie Hughes

    Today I am joined by Jodie Hughes, the founder of Endometriosis South Coast and the Chair of Trustees.  She has also started her PhD at University of Roehampton London, that is researching the differences in care of Endometriosis patients. 

    I connected with Jodie recently and her passion for what she does and her story is so inspiring. We talk about symptoms, types, treatment for Endometriosis and living with the condition. As you know I am passionate about hormonal health and have my own journey with loss of cycle and stress, I hope you enjoy todays conversation. 

    Endometriosis South Coast is an inclusive charity set up to support people who are going through the diagnosis stages of Endometriosis and Adenomyosis or have been diagnosed with the conditions. There  for people that feel they may be suffering with the conditions without starting the process of diagnosis, friends, family and cheerleaders of the people that have to jump through hoops to get started on the diagnosis pathway.
    · Spread awareness of a crippling condition.
    · Research the condition.
    · Provide online support and educate members with monthly support group meetings.
    · Fundraise
    1 in 10 people are diagnosed with Endometriosis.

    This condition is an under funded and under treated area of health, and that needs to change.

  • Let's Talk Hormones & Our Cycle
    2022/03/17

    Periods and hormonal cycle, something half the population have to tackle.
    I will confess I was pretty clueless about my monthly cycle and the changes than happen to the body throughout each month. I just knew each month I'd get a period and that was it, most probable because I was on hormonal contraceptives for close to 20 years!

    I chose to stop the pill due to health reasons and to try to detox my system, it was then I discovered the impact of not actually having a period and this was not a normal or healthy state to be in.

    After a few occasions of hypothalamic amenorrhea from over stressing my body I delved into the science of the period and my mind was blown, who knew and why was I not told about this at school?!

    So, today's episode I share with you my learnings along they way to get a healthy and regular cycle back.
    For me and my clients I started to move my body/exercise/rest around the stages of my monthly's, it was a game changer and years on I'm still on track with my clients time of their cycle and most importantly my our health.

  • It's World Sleep Day!! Tips for a better nights Sleep
    2022/03/17

    Arhhhh Sleep!! Sometimes this is the most overlooked subject when it come to our overall wellbeing and how we function.
    I never took sleep seriously until I was forced to rest, once I looking into restoring our bodies and nervous system it had such a positive impact of my energy and life. Now I wouldn't be without my bedtime routine, and for me it's more of a priority than my morning routine.
    When living in a state of high alert it can take a very long time to wind down.

    •  How do I now exercise with Lipoedema, my recommendations regarding training with stages 1-3 of the condition. 
    • How to start weight training and feel confident with resistant training. 
    • My transition from corporate employment to personal training/fitness instructors profession, how my journey has evolved from weight loss coach to health coaching within the corporate world.
