Welcome back to Recovery Unleashed — the space where healing, high performance, and purpose collide.

In this episode, I sit down with Amanda Baker — a licensed clinical social worker, yoga psychology practitioner, poet, and one of the most soulful voices I’ve met in the therapy space. Amanda blends somatic body-based practices with traditional therapy and yoga psychology to help people break free from cycles of trauma, burnout, and overachieving

Amanda is a licensed clinical social worker and 500-hour yoga psychology teacher based in Maryland, USA. She integrates therapy, yoga, and somatics in her community Alchemize, supporting people to reclaim their authenticity and step out of the loop of survival patterns..

    Together, we dive into:

⭐ The trauma behind overachievement — why so many high performers are actually running on old wounds.

⭐ How burnout isn’t about doing too much, but about doing it for the wrong reasons.

⭐ Why therapy can sometimes reinforce performance and perfectionism — and how somatics can change that.

⭐ The role of the nervous system in driving patterns of striving, productivity, and survival.

⭐ The addiction of achievement — and how to shift into purpose-driven energy that fuels rather than drains you.

⭐ Our shared belief that healing isn’t about hierarchy — it’s about creating safety, regulation, and trust so people can access their own wisdom.

This conversation is raw, funny, deeply human, and full of truth. If you’ve ever felt trapped in the cycle of striving, performing, and burning out — this one is for you. I have had so much fun with Amanda, we’re now diving deeper into work together so you can be sure there will be a follow up podcast from this. (Make sure you subscribe)

If you’re an overachiever running on empty, this episode will change the way you see yourself.

    Episode Overview

What happens when your purpose gets so big…

you no longer need a break from your life?

In this honest, reflective, and deeply resonant conversation, Hannah sits down once again with Sophia Houridis—mind coach, remedial therapist, and one of the most soul-attuned humans walking this planet.

Recorded eight months ago, this episode captures Hannah in a pivotal moment: coming off the back of a massive personal and professional expansion, integrating what it means to live, love, and lead from a nervous system that finally feels safe in the bigness of her purpose.

    Together, Hannah and Sophia explore:

Why burnout has nothing to do with how much you do—and everything to do with what you’re doing it for

The subtle shift from working to escape → working from devotion

What happens when there’s no longer a gap between your body and your mission

How to hold duality: ambition and rest, purpose and partnership, impact and inner peace

The spiritual discipline of not running away when things get good

And why "feeling safe in expansion" is a whole initiation in itself

This conversation is for the visionaries, healers, leaders, and high performers who are doing the inner work while building the thing—and refusing to abandon themselves in the process.

    Episode Overview

In this raw, hilarious, and deeply transformative episode, Hannah sits down with Gavin Aberatyne—co-creator of Integral Alchemy—to revisit the bold promises they made just months ago and reflect on everything that's unfolded since.

From somatic healing in boardrooms to emotional regulation in high-stakes leadership, this episode bridges the worlds of spirituality, science, and high performance like never before. Together, they dive deep into the myths that keep high achievers stuck in burnout and explore how direct somatic experience—not just strategy—is the key to lasting change.

The real reason slowing down creates speed, clarity, and influence

Why most success systems are built on emotional bypassing, and how to fix it

How to bring science and spirituality into leadership without sounding like a monk

What happens when high performers actually feel their feelings (spoiler: they get more powerful)

The hidden shadow of overworking, and why feeling good isn’t a luxury—it’s a strategy

A behind-the-scenes look at the Integral Alchemy method, how it’s evolving, and what’s coming next

    Standout Moments

"We’re not here to escape the human experience—we’re here to transcend through it."

Hannah’s personal moment of realisation: “If I remove the panic… will I still have drive?”

Gavin on parenting and legacy: “Your child’s biggest burden is the unlived life of the parent.”

Debunking the myth: ‘This is just who I am’

When philosophy, Hinduism, and neuroscience collide in an Uber ride 🧠✨

“Feeling good is not a bonus. It’s the foundation of your leadership.”

High performers secretly burning out behind the scenes

Founders, CEOs, and change-makers who are craving more capacity

    ✨ Episode Summary:

In this episode, I sit down with my long-time friend Luke Jenner—leader of the RentVestor Revolution, helping everyday Australians achieve their dreams renting where they want to live and investing where it makes sense. He’s an ex-party boy, and one of the very first people to see all the versions of me… from the 18-year-old chaos queen smashing door-to-door sales in Adelaide, to the recovering addict, to the athlete, the entrepreneur, the woman I am today.

This conversation is personal. It’s honest. And there are moments that hit hard—for both of us.

Luke opens up about shifting from life coaching into property coaching, and how helping people build wealth and freedom starts with rewiring deep emotional patterns. We talk about why most people don’t change, how to navigate shame, and why going slow is actually the secret weapon.

    We dive into:

    • Why “rentvesting” is a controversial but powerful path to freedom

    • The emotional chaos that often comes with money and property decisions

    • Why it’s not just logic that keeps people stuck—but identity, shame and safety

    • What Luke saw in me when I couldn’t see it in myself

    • And how knowing someone for 16 years means nothing’s off-limits… including truths I wasn’t ready to hear until now

This is one of those episodes where you’ll laugh, cringe, reflect—and maybe see your own journey in a different light.

    🧠 Big themes:
    • Identity shifts and financial freedom

    • Addiction and personal reinvention

    • Holding space for your past without shame

    • Why it’s okay to evolve publicly (and imperfectly)

    • The power of long friendships that witness your whole story

This one’s for anyone who's been becoming over and over again—and for those who are ready to live life a little more freely, without needing to be perfect first.

  • Episode: 2 I hid it well with Sophia Houridis
    2025/07/06

In this episode of Recovery Unleashed, I sit down with Sophia Houridis—a mind coach and remedial therapist based in Adelaide, South Australia. Sophia helps individuals bridge the gap between their thoughts and the realities they create, guiding them to uncover what’s really driving their behaviors and patterns.

Sophia is one of my favourite humans on this planet. The way she can articulate her streams of consciousness and break down what’s happening for the person sitting in front of her is absolutely breathtaking. She has a way of pulling together the unseen and bringing clarity to the deepest, most unspoken truths.

Sophia was the second therapist I ever worked with, and the time we spent together was some of the deepest work I had done. It was the first time in 10 years that I had truly stayed clean for a significant amount of time, yet I also relapsed while seeing her—and hid it really well. In this episode, we have a raw and honest conversation about what it was like to carry that secrecy, and what it means to fully step into truth and accountability.

But the biggest moment of this episode? The day before this recording, I told my parents about my addiction for the first time. After 10 years of hiding it from them, another 8 years of being clean and pretending it never happened, I finally said the words out loud. This conversation is real and raw, diving into what that moment was like, how it felt to release that truth, and what it means to own your story, no matter how messy it is.

We also unpack the layers of addiction, how it isn’t always about drugs, and how it can manifest as overworking, overtraining, or constantly chasing something outside of ourselves. When you're inside of it, you often can’t even see it. And yet, the things we’re running from are usually so simple—a fear of lack, the belief that “I don’t want to be like that person,” rather than some big terrifying monster.

This episode is about truth, healing, and seeing addiction for what it really is—a symptom of something deeper, something we can absolutely heal when we have the right awareness, tools, and people around us.
