• 37. Your AI Sounds Generic Because You Never Onboarded It | AI and Technology
    2026/09/01

You asked an AI tool to write something for your business, read it back, and realized it could have belonged to any company in any town. So you closed the laptop and decided AI isn't for you. This episode is about what actually went wrong, and it wasn't the tool.

When you type a bare request into an AI tool, it has no information about your business, your customers, your prices, or your personality. So it hands you the average of everything it has ever read about your industry. And the average sounds like nobody.

Ginny walks through the four layers of context you have to give AI before it can produce anything worth putting your name on. Who you serve. What you sell and what you don't. How you sound. And your rules, the list of things AI is never allowed to say on your behalf, including inventing customers who don't exist.

Along the way she connects this back to Episode 16 and the five foundations every local service business needs before marketing makes sense. Three of those five foundations are the exact context AI is missing, which means most people don't have an AI problem at all. They have a foundation problem that AI just made impossible to ignore.

There's also a sixth foundation nobody talks about. Your visual brand is your logo, colors, and fonts. Your written brand is how you sound, and almost nobody has it written down anywhere.

  • 36. Know Your Numbers: Where to Start When You're Tracking Nothing | Business Strategy
    2026/08/26

You can know your business is busy and still not be able to name a single number that explains why. That is where a lot of local service business owners live, running the whole thing off the bank balance and finding things out after they have already happened.

Last year I sat in a breakout session at a convention in an industry adjacent to mine, and the speaker started firing questions at the room. What is your revenue? How many leads did you get this month? Where did they come from? What is your lead to job conversion rate? What is your average ticket? I have a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and I ran quality for a hospital laboratory for ten years, and I could not answer most of them for any of our three businesses. In this episode I walk through the Tracking pillar of the Business Mountain Framework™ and name the one or two numbers to start with in each of its five categories:

    1. financial,
    2. marketing,
    3. efficiency of operations,
    4. customer satisfaction, and
    5. team and HR.

You will hear why average ticket is the cheapest lever you have, how a low booking rate points at your phone instead of your marketing, and how a recall tracker Logan built at Cavalry Appliance turned into a sealed system training plan for our technician. If you are at Base Camp or Camp 1, this list is not a starter set. It is the whole job. Pick one category, find one number, and put a recurring appointment on your calendar to do it again next month.

  • 35. I'm Going to a Christmas Light Convention. Here's Why. | Productivity and Leadership
    2026/08/18

It's the middle of August. The last quarter of the year starts October 1, which means whatever you do with your final 90 days is being decided right now, while you are deep in the work of your business and not thinking about it at all.

Ginny is driving from North Carolina to Orlando for a convention about power washing, window cleaning, and Christmas light installation, and she and Joe own an appliance service company. In this episode she explains why, and walks through three ways to get far enough outside your business to actually see it: your own industry conference, an adjacent industry conference, and a do it yourself retreat that costs almost nothing. Then she covers what to do once you get there, including the three questions to ask about your January goals and how to sort them into three piles.

You will learn why the drift most owners feel is a visibility problem and not a discipline problem, why October is your execution window instead of your planning window, and how to tell a real needle mover from a task dressed up like one. If you have ever finished a year working harder than anybody in your town and still could not say what it built, this one is for you.

Follow the show wherever you listen, and if it helps you, a review helps another owner find it.

  • 34. How to Use AI Without Adding to the Slop | AI and Technology
    2026/08/11

You know that post. The one that could belong to any business on the planet. It reads fine, the grammar is perfect, and it is completely hollow. If your social media has started to feel like that, you are not lazy and you are not disorganized. You are drowning, and AI promised to save you time.

Ginny Seeley walks through the exact system she uses to connect Claude to her scheduler, Metricool, and turn one piece of content she already made into a full week of posts that educate, inspire, entertain, and ask. Then she shows you the step almost everyone skips: reading every post, making it sound like you, and adding a real photo instead of a generated one. The philosophy is simple. AI drafts, you direct.

This one is for any service business owner who knows they should post consistently and never quite gets to it. You will learn why AI slop is a person problem and not a tool problem, how to keep your voice and your face in every post, and why a real photo beats a polished graphic every single time. Walk away and you can batch a week of content without sounding like everyone else.

If this helped, follow the show and leave a quick review so more owners can find it. Now let's get into it.

  • 33. The Silence That Is Costing You Your Best Employee | Team and Systems
    2026/08/04

Twice a year at Cavalry Appliance Service, every team member sits down across the table with a printed document that both people sign before anyone stands up. Those conversations are not dreaded. They are some of the best ones we have all year. When Ginny brings this up with other local service business owners, the reaction is usually a wince.

The excuses rhyme. It feels too corporate for a three person shop. I see my guys every day, they know how they are doing. I would not even know what to put on the form. But the pattern keeps showing up: the businesses fighting turnover, slipping standards, and that one employee everybody knows is coasting are the same businesses where nobody has ever had a structured, documented conversation about performance.

Ginny walks through the exact evaluation system she and Joe run at Cavalry. The written job description that has to come first. The three scored parts: mission, vision and values, job duties for every hat a person wears, and professional goals. The zero to three language where nobody is a two out of five; they are learning, winning, or leading. The comment rules that keep scores honest. The 30, 60, and 90 day rhythm for new hires, and the day it made a hard decision clear. Plus how the scorecard ties to profit share so the money is never a mystery.

If you have a team and no system for telling them where they stand, this is your next piece of work on the mountain. Grab your gear.

  • 32. The Four Doors People Walk Through to Meet You | Marketing and Visibility
    2026/07/28

You never get a second chance to make a first impression, and most business owners are making four of them at once without realizing it. Your customers are deciding whether they trust you long before they ever see the quality of your work.

Ginny walks through the four doors people walk through to meet you: you in person, your team and your vehicle, your website, and your social media and Google Business Profile. Every one of them is either building trust or leaking it. She covers what your appearance actually communicates to a client before you say a word, why the stock photo on your website is costing you, what people find when they profile dive your personal Facebook page, and the ninety second Google Business Profile habit almost none of your competitors have used even once.

This one is for the local service business owner nobody ever sat down and explained any of this to. You learned your trade, you got good at it, and nobody mentioned there was a whole second set of expectations running alongside the work. Almost everything in this episode is free. It is about attention to detail, and about the fact that the care you show yourself is the ceiling on the care people believe you will show them.

Grab a notebook, and let's talk about how you are showing up.

  • 31. Your Phone Stopped Ringing. AI Search Is Why. Here's the Fix. | Marketing and Visibility
    2026/07/22

Get your free downloads for this episode here: https://www.outcomeacademy.com/episode31

If your phone has gone quiet lately, you are not imagining it, and you are not alone. Local service business owners everywhere are watching calls drop and Google clicks disappear while doing everything they have always done. Ginny has been talking about this shift for two years, and now it is here: AI search has changed how customers find local businesses.

In this episode, Ginny breaks down exactly what changed and how to fix it fast, mostly for free. She explains why customers are asking Google's AI, ChatGPT, and Alexa real questions like "my dryer is squeaking, who can fix it," and why the businesses whose websites answer those questions are the ones getting recommended. You will learn the Compound Marketing Machine approach of using content as currency instead of renting attention through paid ads, the Marcus Sheridan "They Ask, You Answer" principle of answering the questions nobody else will (including pricing), and the four levers that move the needle: optimizing your Google Business Profile for AI search, getting and responding to reviews, auditing your name, address, and phone consistency, and building a website content library from the questions your customers actually ask.

This one is for every HVAC, plumbing, appliance repair, electrical, lawn care, or bookkeeping owner wondering where the leads went. Ginny's own appliance business, Cavalry Appliance Service, is alive and well through this shift, and that is proof this is fixable for you too. The next Compound Marketing Machine group experience starts Tuesday, August 4th at 12 pm Eastern, with a free digital presence audit for fast action takers.

  • 30. Camp 2 Where Your Business Stops Depending on You | Team and Systems
    2026/07/15

Your schedule is full, your customers are happy, and you have absolutely nothing left to give. If you own a local service business and every dollar still depends on your personal hands, your personal phone, and your personal memory, this episode was made for you.

Ginny walks through the Business Mountain Framework™ at Camp 2, the growing phase, where your business stops depending solely on you. You will hear what your first real hire should look like (hint: it might not be another tradesperson), why training is a plan and not a one day ride along, and how to systematize your marketing, sales, quality, parts, and admin so quality survives being done by hands that are not yours. She also shares real examples from Cavalry Appliance, from the barcode system Joe fought to put in place to the outside pros who handle payroll and accounts payable.

If you are turning away good work because there is simply no more of you to go around, this is your map between the two ditches: hiring too fast without preparation, and waiting too long while the grind costs you your health and your family dinners.

Grab your notes from the Camp 1 episode, take a deep breath of that mountain air, and let's climb.
