  • The Castle And The Cake
    2026/05/27

This episode is a little different, rather than present a technique this episode is a 'fairy story' exploring the challenges for clients of stepping away from the old safety mechanisms that kept them safe in the past, but now keep them trapped.

The castle in the photo, which inspired the analogy, is Beaumaris Castle on Ynys Môn/Anglesey in Wales, about 20 miles away from where I grew up.

Episode #10, "Tethering The Goat" will drop on 10th June 2026.

  • Tracking Down The Right Memory With Three Questions
    2026/04/22

A central tenet of EFT and other tapping modalities is that most of our emotional problems have a history. We learn unhelpful feelings and limiting beliefs in situations that are then embedded in our memory, and play out in our current lives, long after the original experience is over.

One of a tapping practitioner’s jobs is finding and neutralising the memories of where problems start, thus neutralising the unhelpful feelings that spring from that experience.

In this episode I present a simple, reliable three question approach to finding the right memory to tap on.

  • Ask Your Body Not Your Mind
    2026/04/08

In this episode, I explain the use of a simple statement to help your client access information that is not easily available to their conscious minds.

This can be useful for clients who are stuck in their thinking minds, or reluctant to connect with their felt experience.

Episode #6, "Tracking down the right memory with three questions" will drop on 22nd April 2026.

  • Tapping Into Hidden Emotions
    2026/03/25

This technique is for experienced practitioners only.

If you are a tapping practitioner, you know that when you are tapping, you are working with feelings.

Tapping is a very effective way of moderating stressful and distressing feelings so that we, and our clients, can become more relaxed and comfortable. All you need is the ability to tap and to tune into the feelings you want to soothe.

This sounds easy in principle, but what if the feelings you want to soothe don’t want to be felt?

    Heads-up

Episode #6, "Ask Your Body Not Your Mind" will drop on 8th April 2026.

  • The Safety Ladder
    2026/03/11

Our clients come to us for help with issues of different levels of importance and intensity.

For some of our clients, because of their life experiences, many of these issues could be very intense.

You might start collecting a list of issues to work with and rate them in order of importance to the client, after all you want to be able to help them on what is important to them. Understandably, some clients can be determined to get the worst thing resolved as quickly as possible.

However, in our enthusiasm to help, we may be tempted to go after the ‘high value’ targets to get the best and quickest results for our client, but there may be problems with this approach.

The 'Safety Ladder' is a way to work with vulnerable clients to help them work with difficult issues.

    Heads-up

Episode #4, "Tapping Into Hidden Emotions" will drop on 25th March 2026.

  • How Do You Know What To Tap On?
    2026/02/25

You may have noticed how complicated your inner life is.

At any moment, there are thoughts, feelings, memories, fantasies, images, physical sensations, etc. floating along in your stream of consciousness. Some of it may be important, some of it, not so much.

When we are struggling to handle difficult emotional issues and trying to understand what is happening, the amount of stuff to tap on can be overwhelming. There’s a lot going on, and if you can only tap on one thing at a time, how do you choose what to tap on?

Here's one way of dealing with being spoilt for choice when there are things to tap on.

    Heads-up

Episode #3, "The Safety Ladder" will drop on 11th March 2026.

  • The Traffic Cop Strategy
    2026/02/11

A simple approach to working with clients who can’t stop talking.

If you are a practitioner, you may be familiar with this situation: a new client comes to their first session, and they start to talk … and talk … and talk … and talk.

    It’s a river of words.

What are you going to do?

In this episode, I describe a simple, respectful way to stop clients talking too much.

    Heads-up

Episode #2, "How do you know what to tap on?" will drop on 25th February 2026.
