Moving on to the topic of 5G, it refers to the fifth generation of wireless technology that promises faster data speeds, reduced latency, and increased connectivity. However, some individuals have raised concerns about the potential health risks associated with 5G networks. These concerns stem from the use of higher frequency bands and the deployment of a significantly larger number of small cell antennas. Critics argue that prolonged exposure to electromagnetic radiation emitted by 5G infrastructure may have adverse effects on human health, including increased risk of cancer, neurological disorders, and reproductive issues.

One prominent movement related to the concerns surrounding 5G is the Stop 5G Campaign. This organization represents a collective effort to oppose the widespread implementation of 5G networks due to health and environmental concerns. Supporters of this movement advocate for more extensive research on the potential health impacts of 5G and urge governments and telecommunication companies to exercise caution in the deployment of this technology. They also emphasize the importance of informed consent and public participation in decision-making processes related to the rollout of 5G infrastructure. The Stop 5G Campaign has sparked public debates and has led to increased scrutiny and discussions around the potential risks and benefits of this new technology.

In today's increasingly digitalized world, the importance of cybersecurity has grown exponentially, becoming an integral component in safeguarding democracy. As more aspects of our lives and government operations move into the digital realm, the need to protect sensitive information and critical infrastructure from cyber threats has become paramount. Ensuring the security of election systems, government data, and citizens' personal information from external threats is crucial to upholding the principles of a democratic society.

The premise of the debate is the idea that foreign actors are using and abusing online spaces and digital tools to undermine, disrupt or even destroy the democratic foundations of the European Union and of its Member States. But the questions remain: How does one distinguish between cyber activism or civil disobedience, and cyber terrorism?, and How do cyber threats translate into actual damage, and how this is quantified and qualified?

The European Commission’s proposal for a regulation on the sustainable use of pesticides has caused quite a stir.

After having been initially delayed, it is now under review in the European Parliament and by EU Member States. And it promises major changes: not least, to reduce by half the use of chemical pesticides by 2030.
