  • Addicted To Spiritual Seeking with Clive, Dom & Matt
    2026/08/14

Something on your mind? Send Matt a text here!

In this episode of My Sober Addiction we are getting into spirituality. Particularly, the differences between spirituality and religion. Ohhh, dear loved on, there are differences! For instance, one of my favorite quotes since I’ve been living sober after active addiction and becoming a spiritual seeker is, “Religion is for people who are scared of hell, while spirituality is for those who have already lived through it.” As controversial and even downright offensive as that may be, if you grew up even mildly religious and survived addiction and found spirituality then it probably rings true to you. Clive and Dom join us again, the collaborations will continue…with a few solo episodes sprinkled in just because. Please join us in the WhatsApp group and chat us up. Much love and respect!

  • Forgiving Yourself For Your Addiction & Being Inspirational
    2026/06/29

Something on your mind? Send Matt a text here!

In this solo episode of My Sober Addiction it feels kinda old school. Not to worry, though, the episodes with Clive and Dom are still on. In this episode I want to challenge you to answer a few questions to yourself. For example, have you forgiven yourself for allowing addiction int your life? When we get sober we go through a lot mentally and spiritually but it seems that most of us addicts in recovery skip over the part where we must forgive ourselves. We also must forgive the circumstances that led to us becoming dependent on a substance just to cope with life in the first place. That’s a tough one, accepting that ugly side of ourselves and allowing it to be. If we are to move past addiction and into a sober lifestyle and be able to share our stories and be inspirational for other addicts who are still suffering but ready to find their way into recovery and out of the madness then we must do these things.

Don’t forget to join on the WhatsApp group where we encourage each other and have a safe place to just hang out and be ourselves. Clive, Dom and I along with others have some lively and often fun times there and will be happy to welcome you to the group.

    Much love and respect!

    2026/06/25

Something on your mind? Send Matt a text here!

This seems to be an explosive question in certain circles: Is addiction really a disease? Some claim that it is not, and while it is not the same as cancer, it is a mental disorder,in my opinion. Oh, but not so fast, Matty, others do have a different opinion. So, dear loved one, what’s your take? Is addiction a disease?

Clive, Dom and Matt get into this question with quite a thought provoking conversation about addiction and recovery and living sober. Send us a message and let us know your thoughts and why you think that way. Join us on the Breaking My Addictions WhatsApp group.

  • Sober Authenticity: Defining Self After Addiction
    2026/05/13

Something on your mind? Send Matt a text here!

In this episode of My Sober Addiction, we continue our talk about authenticity. After active addiction, we begin living sober but are faced with the question of, “Who am I now?” You know you can’t continue to be the same person you were during active addiction so how do you reinvent yourself into a new version of you and remain authentic and true to yourself? Is this a version of self that you can sustain? It can definitely cause anxiety since the person you were for so many years during active addiction is no longer who (or what) you are now. It’s also exciting because the possibilities are truly limitless. Be the type of person you’ve always admired.

  • Living Sober & Being Present (Isn’t It Nice)
    2026/04/12

Something on your mind? Send Matt a text here!

In this episode of My Sober Addiction, we have another one of our “Isn’t It Nice” installments. Now that we are free from active addiction and living sober we can be there for our loved ones when they need us. There was a time when they absolutely could not count on us to be there. Also, we go into whether or not relapse is an option and how the fear of detox can be a real deterrent that keeps us sober.

Please share this podcast with someone and give me a rating and review wherever you listen to podcasts. Much love and respect!

  • Addiction Taught Me To Find & Appreciate Beauty In Everything
    2026/03/27

Something on your mind? Send Matt a text here!

In this episode of My Sober Addiction, we delve into the Hermetic Law of Polarity and how we can learn and grow from any situation. Once you’ve gotten past active addiction and living sober, life gets good again. We can easily see the contrast in how bad and good things can be. When we look at the world around us and see all the negativity, we can do that knowing that it MUST mean that there is something that is equally as positive. Like the Yin and the Yang, you can’t have good without bad. So, bad things mean there must be something equally as good. As an addict in recovery, we can certainly appreciate that probably more than most.

Don’t forget to drop in on Clive’s WhatsApp group and say hi to the guys and me, the link is below.

  • Thinking About Thinking: Avoiding Self Sabotage with Clive and Dom
    2026/02/18

Something on your mind? Send Matt a text here!

We’re back! After a very long hiatus, My Sober Addiction is back. Clive, Dom and Matt are back for a chat about thinking. Why is it that we always seem to think ourselves into oblivion? Sometimes it is best to step away from the brain and take a breath. One thing we’ve learned is that the human brain is going to do what it does best, which is think and overthink and then think some more. It’s overload! It just exacerbates the problem when we stick our faces in our screens and absorb all that negativity and dopamine hits that only social media can provide most of our waking hours. Meditation is a key part to getting control of your mind. Please understand that “Brain” and “Mind” aren’t the same thing.
