Rooted & Rising | Feeding the Land

    The rain has finally arrived.

After weeks of glorious sunshine and dry ground, the fields are beginning to receive what they've been waiting for. It reminded me that growth doesn't happen overnight. First comes the nourishment, then the roots, and only then do we begin to see the change.

In this week's episode, I reflect on what truly feeds us and why, just like nature, we all need the right conditions to grow.

Journal prompt: What is feeding your soul right now?

  • JWJ S5 EP5 - Reflection

Today is one of those episodes where I simply let the thoughts flow.

From reflecting by the sea, to the emotion of the Kevin Keegan tributes, to last week's green fix amongst the trees, somehow it all brought me back to grief, life and the paths we each walk.

Grief isn't a process to complete or a set of steps to follow. It's unique, because we are unique.

There is no right way. There is no wrong way.

And perhaps one of the most freeing things we can remember is that the only person we can truly control is ourselves.

So come and walk with me for a while as I reflect on nature, memories, grief, perspective and allowing ourselves to find our own way.

Back to Nature – A Green Fix

Today, Janey & Tilly take a different path.

Leaving our usual walk behind, we headed into the trees in search of a little green fix. Amongst the towering pines and vibrant ferns, nature reminded me that changing our habits can change our perspective.

Janey explores the power of trying a different path, noticing what has always been there, and the quiet lessons waiting for us when we slow down.

So, come and walk with me for a while...then sit for 5 minutes soaking it in listening to the waterfall.

  • JWJ S5 EP3 - Taking my own advice (repeat)

Janey is taking her own advice, sleeping and recovering after feeling like she has been hit by a bus yesterday and having to sleep for nearly 36 hours on and off.

Sometimes our bodies tell us enough is enough and a recharge is required, forcing us to do nothing. Even if we think we have all bases covered.

This is a repeat of an earlier episode and Janey will be back full strength next week.

For now take care and listen to your body if it says rest, thn rest.

Rooted & Rising – What Needs Nurturing?
Last week we opened the gate to a new season, Rooted & Rising. This week, we're taking our first gentle steps into The Quiet Field.

Living and working on the farm reminds me every day that nature never rushes. Before anything reaches for the light, it first puts down roots. Perhaps we're not so different.

In this episode, I reflect on what it really means to nurture ourselves, why quiet growth often goes unnoticed, and how we can stop measuring life by what we've achieved and start noticing who we're becoming.

I'll leave you with a simple journal prompt to carry through the week, followed by six minutes of the waterfall and nature an invitation to pause, reflect, and simply be.

So, come and walk with me for a while...

Rooted & Rising Season 5 Begins.

Welcome to a new season of Journey with Janey.

Season 4 invited us to embrace new beginnings. This season is about what happens next.

Like nature, we aren't meant to bloom all year. We need time to put down roots, trust the process, and recognise that some of life's greatest growth happens quietly, beneath the surface.

Throughout this season, I'll be sharing reflections inspired by the changing seasons, life on the farm, nature, grief, rediscovery, and the gentle reminders that help us come home to ourselves.

    This week's reflection is simple:
Reflect on how fa you have come in the last 90 days? it may be something really small and thats totally fine.
If it were the end of September and you were looking back with a smile, what has grown in your life?

Take a few quiet moments with a journal, or simply sit with the question and notice what comes, tune into the ryhthym of the sea and see where it takes you.

Thank you for walking alongside me. Whether you're listening from your kitchen, your car, out in nature, or somewhere in between, I'm so glad you're here.

  • JWJ S4 EP13 - Exactly Where I Need To Be
    2026/06/24

As Season 4 draws to a close, Janey reflects on a weekend filled with family, connection, gratitude, and a quiet sense of knowing.

After months of exploring new beginnings, growth, self-image, learning from nature, and trusting ourselves, this episode brings everything back to one simple truth:

Sometimes the greatest transformation isn't becoming someone new. It's remembering who you are.

From The Quiet Field sponsorship event to time spent with family, and a realisation that arrived quietly rather than dramatically, this episode is a reflection on identity, purpose, belonging, and the journey home to ourselves.

    • Finding yourself after life's biggest changes
    • The power of belonging and connection
    • Remembering who you are beneath the roles and expectations
    • Why growth often feels quiet before it feels significant
    • Trusting that you are exactly where you need to be

As one season ends, another begins. Perhaps that's the beauty of the journey.

  • JWJ S4 EP12 - The Quiet Field
    2026/06/17

This week, I'm revisiting one of my favourite episodes.

As we've been exploring self-trust, listening within, learning from nature, and creating space for our own answers, it felt like the perfect time to return to The Quiet Field.

In a world that constantly encourages us to do more, know more, and seek more, this episode is an invitation to pause.

To breathe, to notice and to remember that sometimes the greatest clarity arrives when we stop searching and simply allow ourselves to be.

So find a quiet space, take a walk, sit with a coffee, or simply listen.

    The Quiet Field is waiting.
