Indiana Football is preparing to face Minnesota, and the Golden Gophers might be a much more dangerous opponent than Hoosiers fans realize.

Minnesota enters the matchup with a 5-2 record and three victories over teams that were ranked when they played: Washington, Michigan and Iowa. Curt Cignetti's Indiana Hoosiers are coming off a 13-6 overtime victory against Michigan, but the offense still has questions to answer.

In today's Locked On Hoosiers HIT, Jacob Goins explains why Indiana fans shouldn't overlook PJ Fleck's Minnesota team, particularly its defense and secondary. With Josh Hoover and Indiana's passing game trying to regain their rhythm, this could be an important test before the Hoosiers' bye week.

Jacob also shares his three keys to an Indiana victory: protecting the football, establishing offensive rhythm early, and letting Indiana's defense dictate the game.

Can Indiana handle Minnesota comfortably, or will the Golden Gophers make this a much closer game than expected?

Indiana Basketball's backcourt might be better than fans originally expected. Markus Burton has struggled with his shooting during the exhibition season and suffered a finger injury against Western Kentucky, but Darian DeVries has provided an encouraging update. Meanwhile, Bryce Lindsay has emerged as one of the Hoosiers' most exciting offensive players.

In today's Locked On Hoosiers HIT, Jacob Goins explains why Indiana fans shouldn't write off Markus Burton before the regular season even begins. Burton's struggles are worth discussing, but Lindsay's impressive preseason performances could give DeVries more options than expected.

Lindsay scored 26 points against North Carolina and 20 against Western Kentucky, and DeVries has discussed giving him starter-level minutes even if he comes off the bench. What happens if both Burton and Lindsay become major contributors? Could Indiana have one of the Big Ten's most dangerous backcourts?

Jacob also discusses Indiana's other guards, the importance of improved perimeter defense, and why the starting lineup may matter less than the combinations DeVries uses throughout games.

Do you think Markus Burton and Bryce Lindsay can both thrive in Indiana's backcourt?

Curt Cignetti just praised one of Indiana Football's most impressive defensive players: Tobi Osunsanmi. The Kansas State transfer has recorded nine sacks through eight games, and his impact on the Hoosiers' defensive line has been enormous.

In today's Locked On Hoosiers HIT, Jacob Goins breaks down Osunsanmi's breakout season, Cignetti's praise for his technique, leadership and development, and why Indiana's pass rush has become such an important part of the team's success.

Indiana recently held Michigan to just six points while recording four sacks, another impressive performance for Bryant Haines' defense. Alongside players such as Tyrique Tucker, Mario Landino and Joe Hjelle, Osunsanmi is helping make Indiana's defensive front one of the team's biggest strengths.

Jacob explains how pressure on opposing quarterbacks helps Indiana's secondary, why Osunsanmi has exceeded expectations since transferring from Kansas State, and how his continued production could help the Hoosiers pursue another championship.

Is Tobi Osunsanmi Indiana's most important defensive player this season?

Indiana Football has a major question to answer at wide receiver. Nick Marsh and Charlie Becker have established themselves as Josh Hoover's top receiving options, but the Hoosiers are still looking for a consistent third target in the passing game.

In today's Locked On Hoosiers HIT, Jacob Goins explains why Indiana's lack of another dependable receiving threat could become a serious problem as the Hoosiers prepare to face Minnesota and continue their push toward the College Football Playoff.

Shazz Preston, Tyler Morris and Davion Chandler have opportunities to emerge, but Indiana needs someone else to consistently make plays. Michigan limited Marsh and Becker to five combined receptions, raising concerns that future opponents could adopt a similar defensive approach.

Jacob discusses how Indiana can create more opportunities for Josh Hoover, why Brock Schott's overtime catch against Michigan provides a reason for optimism, and what the Hoosiers need from their passing game down the stretch.

Who do you think will emerge as Indiana's third reliable receiving option?

Darian DeVries has some major lineup decisions to make after Indiana Basketball's 79-74 exhibition victory over Western Kentucky. The Hoosiers received an incredible 57 points from their bench, including 20 from Bryce Lindsay and 15 from Sam Alexis, while several starters struggled to produce.

In today's Locked On Hoosiers HIT, Jacob Goins reacts to Indiana's comeback against Western Kentucky and explains why DeVries may need to rethink his starting lineup and regular-season rotation.

Bryce Lindsay continues to make a strong case for more playing time, Indiana's freshmen are stepping up, and the Hoosiers appear to have significant depth heading into the season. But with Markus Burton, Darren Harris and other starters struggling against Western Kentucky, how should DeVries distribute minutes?

Jacob discusses Indiana's bench production, the possibility of Lindsay earning a starting role, and why the Hoosiers need more consistency from their starting five.

Curt Cignetti revealed that Indiana Football considered replacing Josh Hoover with Grant Wilson during the Hoosiers' overtime victory against Michigan. With Hoover dealing with an injury and struggling offensively, could Indiana face another quarterback decision ahead of its matchup with Minnesota?

In today's Locked On Hoosiers HIT, Jacob Goins reacts to Cignetti's postgame comments, Josh Hoover's performance against Michigan, and the potential implications for Indiana's offense moving forward.

Hoover completed 8 of 18 passes for 81 yards and an interception before helping Indiana secure a 13-6 overtime victory. Jacob explains why Hoover's health should be a priority, whether Grant Wilson could see opportunities, and why the Hoosiers' offensive line and running game need to improve regardless of who plays quarterback.

Is this a legitimate quarterback controversy, or simply a difficult situation that Curt Cignetti and his coaching staff need to manage?
