  • S1-E28: My Story and the Questions It Forced Me to Ask
    2026/07/20

Family estrangement is becoming increasingly common, yet few people are willing to talk openly about it.

In this deeply personal first episode, I share my family's story—not to assign blame or ask listeners to choose sides, but to begin an honest conversation about one of the most painful realities many families face today.

Along the way, I reflect on what God has taught me through grief, repentance, and hope, and I explain why my personal journey led me to ask a much bigger question: How did we get here?

As a worldview teacher, I explore the cultural ideas that I believe have reshaped the modern family, including the rise of child-centered parenting and how it may have influenced the way we think about authority, responsibility, identity, and reconciliation. I also discuss the difference between thoughtful psychology and today's pop-therapy culture, arguing that Christians should evaluate every cultural idea—including our views of family and healing—through the authority of Scripture.

Whether you're a parent experiencing estrangement, an adult child trying to understand your own family, or someone seeking a thoughtful biblical perspective on today's culture, my prayer is that this conversation encourages you to pursue truth with humility, extend grace without abandoning wisdom, and remember that no relationship is beyond God's reach.

This is the beginning of a conversation—not the end.

  • S1-E27: The Social Media Illusion: Known, Connected, or Controlled?
    2026/07/12

In this episode, we explore how social media is reshaping our minds, relationships, and culture. From the neuroscience behind endless scrolling to the illusion of connection, we examine why so many of us crave likes, followers, and online validation—and what that pursuit may be costing us.

Drawing on Austin's decades in law enforcement, the conversation also uncovers a side of social media that many overlook: how the personal information we freely share can become a roadmap for anyone seeking to manipulate or exploit us.

Is social media simply a tool, or has it become a force that shapes our thinking, our identity, and even our sense of self?

Join us as we ask the deeper question: Are we intentionally using social media—or is social media quietly shaping the people we're becoming?

  • S1-E26: The PsyOps Against the Family (How We Were Taught to Celebrate Isolation)
    2026/06/29

This explores one of the most influential cultural messages of our time: that adulthood begins by leaving home and becoming "independent."

    .

We examine how modern ideas about family, success, ownership, and self-reliance compare with the biblical model of intergenerational family, stewardship, and responsibility. Is the push toward isolation making individuals—and families—stronger, or more vulnerable?

    .

Join us as we examine what we call the enemy's economy—how shame is the currency, and pride becomes the interest payment, and the Gospel offers the only path to true freedom.

  • S1-E25: Peacekeepers vs. Peacemakers - What Jesus Actually Commands
    2026/06/22

In this episode, we explore one of Jesus' most misunderstood teachings: "Blessed are the peacemakers." Is God calling Christians to avoid conflict—or to redeem it?

Through Scripture, we will examine the difference between peacekeeping, which often protects comfort and appearances, and peacemaking, which courageously pursues truth, repentance, justice, forgiveness, and reconciliation. From the Cross to our homes, churches, workplaces, and communities, we will discuss why real peace is built on righteousness—not silence.

This conversation challenges listeners to ask whether they've mistaken the absence of conflict for the presence of peace, and what it truly means to become ministers of reconciliation in a divided world.

  • S1-E24: When Wounds Become Identity
    2026/06/14

In today's culture, everyone seems to be on a "healing journey." We hear phrases like protect your peace, choose yourself, and cut off anyone who threatens your healing. But as Christians, we have to ask an important question:

    Who gets to define healing?

In this episode, we explore the difference between cultural healing and biblical healing. We discuss the rise of therapeutic language, the influence of social media and modern "experts," and why our wounds—though real—were never meant to become our identity.

Drawing from the lives of Paul and Joseph, we ask what it truly means to take our wounds to the cross and allow Christ, rather than our pain, to have the final word.

Because the Christian answer isn't that wounds aren't real.

It's that wounds don't get the final word.

    Christ does.

  • S1-E23: When Faithful Parenting Doesn't Produce the Outcome You Hoped For
    2026/06/02

Can a parent do everything right and still experience heartbreak?

Many Christian parents quietly carry the belief that if they pray faithfully, teach biblical truth, model godly living, and remain committed to their children, the outcome will eventually be what they hoped for. The opening chapter of Job challenges that assumption.

Before Job became known for suffering, he was a father. A faithful father. A praying father. A father deeply concerned about the spiritual condition of his adult children. Yet despite his faithfulness, Job discovered a difficult truth that every parent must eventually confront: influence is not control.

In this episode, Austin and Tricia explore Job 1 through the lens of parenting, adult children, estrangement, and the limits of parental responsibility. What do we do when our children make choices we would never make? How do we handle the grief of losing influence over someone we deeply love? And how can parents remain faithful when the outcome is not what they prayed for?

Whether you are raising young children, navigating relationships with adult children, grieving estrangement, or simply wrestling with questions about God's sovereignty and free will, this conversation offers biblical insight, practical wisdom, and hope for parents carrying burdens they were never meant to bear alone.

    In this episode:

    • What made Job a faithful father
    • The difference between influence and control
    • Why faithful parenting does not guarantee faithful children
    • The grief of losing influence over adult children
    • How Job's story speaks to estranged parents today
    • The difference between responsibility and sovereignty
    • Why parents are called to cultivate, not control

You can be faithful without being sovereign. You can love deeply without controlling outcomes. And sometimes the greatest act of faith a parent ever performs is entrusting a beloved child to God.

  • S1-E22: The Great Redefinition - How Families Are Lost Without Ever Being Attacked
    2026/05/31

Why are families becoming increasingly fractured, isolated, and estranged?

In this episode, we explore a provocative question: If someone wanted to weaken the family while convincing people they were becoming more free, more authentic, and more healed, what would that strategy look like?

We examine the cultural shifts that have redefined duty as burden, discomfort as harm, authority as oppression, and forgiveness as optional. Along the way, we discuss the rise of family estrangement, the decline of intergenerational relationships, the outsourcing of community to digital spaces, and the growing tension between personal autonomy and family responsibility.

This is not a discussion about excusing abuse or remaining in dangerous relationships. Rather, it is an exploration of what happens when ordinary conflict, disappointment, and imperfect family relationships are increasingly viewed through the lens of permanent separation.

From a biblical perspective, we consider why covenant, sacrifice, forgiveness, grace, and commitment have historically held families together—and what may be lost when those values are replaced by radical individualism and perpetual grievance.

Whether you are navigating family conflict yourself or simply concerned about the future of the family institution, this episode offers a thoughtful conversation about one of the defining cultural issues of our time.

  • S1-E21: The Age of Estrangement
    2026/05/25

Today we tackled one of the most painful and complicated realities modern families face: estrangement.

While there are many different types of estrangement — political, theological, medical, relational, generational, romantic-partner influenced, divorce-related, and even social-media accelerated — they often arrive at the same destination: the parent becomes viewed as fundamentally “wrong,” unsafe, unhealthy, or incompatible with the adult child’s identity or worldview.

In this episode, we unpack the many pathways that lead families to fracture.

We also discuss an uncomfortable truth:

Most estrangements are rarely caused by just one event. More often, they are layered systems of miscommunication and identity.

Some estrangements reflect a growing cultural shift in how family, authority, boundaries, validation, and personal identity are being redefined in modern society.

A difficult, honest, and deeply human conversation.
