  • EP 43: Don't Be Afraid
    2024/06/03

On this Happy is the New Pretty episode, Christy and Jillian talk with Leah Kush, a mother who learned not to be afraid alongside her firstborn child, a female now transgender.

    Acceptance

At 12 years old, Leah’s son came to her and told her he identified as he/him. Unsure and confused at what this meant, Leah discovered that regardless of gender identification, it doesn’t change the remarkable person that her son is today. Acceptance comes when we allow ourselves to learn about something that makes us uncomfortable because we don’t understand.

    Support

Leah has been supporting her son through his transition with hormone therapy and self-discovery. She has stood by his side, watching him grow into his authentic self.
