Let's talk about the word that makes us cringe. Boundaries.
When you live with a chronic condition, boundaries aren't optional. They are survival. But saying no feels so hard, especially in our 40s, 50s and beyond. We were taught to be the helpers, the strong ones, the ones who don't complain.
So today, I want to give you one simple sentence you can use this week. Here it is:
"I can't do that right now, but thank you for thinking of me."
That's it. No long story about your pain, no apology essay, no fake excuse.
In this episode, I'll share why this one sentence works:
✨ One — it's true. Your body is saying no right now.
✨ Two — it's kind. You are still loving.
✨ Three — it protects your spoons. And you need your spoons for YOU.
Your practice for today: Say it in the mirror, soft voice, gentle eyes. "I can't do that right now, but thank you for thinking of me."
You are not mean for having boundaries. You are wise. And the people who truly love you, they want you to have them too.
This week, try it once. Just once. I am so proud of you.
You are seen. You are heard. You are not alone. I'll talk to you next week.
