  • Chef David Burke on Culinary Creativity, Memorable Meals, and Building Restaurants That Last
    2026/07/09

Chef David Burke joins Kerri for a conversation about what it really means to cook with creativity, run restaurants with staying power, and create food that people actually remember.

From his signature bacon and lobster dumplings at Seahawk Prime to his decades in New York, New Jersey, and Florida restaurants, David shares how innovation, hospitality, pressure, and personality all come together on the plate.

They talk about the balance between creativity and consistency, why restaurants need to create “postcards” in a guest’s memory, what makes a dining experience unforgettable, and how Birdies brings a more casual, playful energy alongside Seahawk Prime. Plus, David shares stories from Iron Chef, Guy Fieri, Emeril, Jersey music legends, and the celebrity phone call that actually happened during the episode.

  • The Woman Who Started It All: Origin Story of Flavor Palm Beach with Briana Beaty
    2026/07/09

Before there was Flavor South Florida, there was one woman, one big idea, and 17 restaurants willing to take a chance on it.

Kerri sits down with Briana Beaty - the founder of Flavor Palm Beach - to hear the story straight from the source. Briana shares how a love of New York Restaurant Week and Miami Spice inspired her to build something similar from scratch in Palm Beach County, cold-calling restaurants on her lunch break and knocking on doors after hours until she had her first 17 participants in 2007.

Nearly 20 years later, that scrappy idea has grown into a program that generated $2.3 million in restaurant revenue in a single September. Briana and Kerri reflect on the early days, the OG restaurants that were there from the start (Café Chardonnay, Ruth's Chris, Season 52, Capital Grille shoutout to the OGs!), and why keeping Flavor to just one month has always been the secret to keeping it special.

Briana also opens up about her next chapter: Palm Beach Moms, a community and resource hub she built for local families that started as a closed Facebook group 14 years ago and has grown into a full website, newsletter, and advertising platform at thepbmoms.com.

This is the episode for anyone who has ever wondered - how did Flavor actually start?

    LISTEN IF YOU'RE...

    • A longtime Flavor diner who has always wondered how the whole thing began
    • A local entrepreneur who loves hearing how South Florida businesses were built from the ground up
    • A restaurant owner or industry professional curious about the history of Palm Beach's dining scene
    • A mom in the Palm Beaches looking for community resources and local support
    • Someone who loves a good origin story — especially one told by the two women who lived it
