    2025/05/04

I mean what a talent! Michelle can do it all, stand up comedy, singer, writer and actor!!

Michelle has been through a lot for such a young person. She shares her grief and loss in her shows. Michelle’s shows have been described as both heartbreaking and hilarious. Before she goes on stage with her partner they look at each other and say “shut the fuck up and have fun!”

In this chat we talk about her loss; from third degree brings to her dad passing away quite suddenly from pancreatic cancer. Then her brother passed and she found out that she has a 97% chance of developing cancer herself. She talks about the drive that comes from running out of time.

Michelle is non-stop, honest and generous with sharing so much of herself through her art, it was an honour to sit down with this special person.

You can follow Michelle on insta here: Michelle's insta

And you can find out more about her upcoming shows here:

And here's her book: order here

The come down after a high.

Last week was a good week; I filmed a pilot, met with a potential new agent and sent a bunch of TV pitches off.

This week’s been a little more trying and I know that’s just part of the game, but I often forget that after a high, there’s a little low and that’s ok. I think it’s meant to happen, it’s a time to regroup, heal, ground and let the good stuff settle in. But being an A-type shark (my friend Jad always says that I’m like a shark and I would die if I stopped moving), it’s really hard for me to slow down, to be ok with the stillness and calm that comes off the back of a win. In some weird warped way, my mind see it as a failure.

So here I am, today, choosing to celebrate the win, sit in it and enjoy the stillness of this week. I’m about to meet a friend and go for a walk around the reservoir, do yoges and breathwork later in the day then do a face mask and watch a Pedro Pascal movie tonight. It’s what I call a “Lola day” time to reset, ground and do all the things that make me feel mentally and physically clear.

When I feel clear, I understand the importance of stillness after a busy time, I remember that there’s always a time of quiet after business in the creative world. I’ve written 11 books and after every book publicity tour I would crash and burn; I’d be tired but I’d miss the business of full schedules of interviews, TV segments, launch parties. Overtime, I learnt to enjoy the “come down” by connecting back into what makes me feel clear; yoga, movement, breath work, cooking a healthy meal, going to the movies, seeing a live band, watching other people live their passions. And then, in those quieter times, there would be a sense of ease and clarity and that’s where I’d find the inspiration or idea for the next project.

So here’s to choosing to love the come down after a creative high. Who knows what creating that space might bring in next…

    LA Passion & Purpose

Righto, this is an honest chat about what I'm doing in LA and why the Bosso isn't with me. This is an episode that I hope it evokes and inspires you to truly move step by step closer towards your passion. I heard this quote via Noah Hunter Dorsey (who's an upcoming guest on the pod) "We often overestimate how much we can achieve in one month, but we also underestimate how much we can achieve in a year." And it inspired me to take stock on the year that was. We've just resigned our lease in LA for another year so I took some time to have an honest chat about how many fun and exciting things had happened over the past 12 month. I invite you to do the same, grab yourself a journal or some butcher's paper and celebrate the wins of the past 12 months, at the same time set some really clear goals about what you'd like to achieve and bring to life in a year from now.
p.s i also mentioned i'll be kicking off my online consults again for:- wellness coaching- book writing coaching- podcast coaching If you're keeno or want to learn more just email me: lola@lolaberry.com

  • 695. Fearlessly Failing: Actor - Maria Angelico
    2025/04/20

Meet actor, writer and producer Marina Angelico, she's absolutely killing it, you can see her on Strife alongside Asher Keddie, in Stateless with Kate Box and Jai Courtney, The Newsreader, The Clearing, Apple Cider Vinegar and of course we had to talk about her role in We Can Be Heroes with Chris Lilly. With all of these wins she;s so unaffected and humble.
We talked about having the same acting training here in Australia, and what she loved and didnt love about it. That's what I think I loved most about Maria, she's confident and comfortable with who she is as a human, and it shows, not just in her work but in the way she lives and carries herself as a human being.
We look at comedy Vs drama and which space she prefers to play in. We talk about imposter syndrome and what the dream gig is!
Maria, you're a force and I mean that in the best way, you're unapologetically yourself and it shows, and I'm here for it. I cannot wait to see what comes next for you my friend.
Maria's insta is a great way to stay up to date with her work: https://www.instagram.com/mariacreatesdrama/
