  • Why Are We So Desperate to Be Seen?
    2026/07/09

Every one of us wants to be seen, known, and valued. But what happens when our identity starts depending on likes, compliments, success, or other people's approval?

In this kitchen table conversation, we talk honestly about our own struggle with validation, how social media amplifies it, and why nothing in this world can satisfy the deepest longing of the human heart. Together we explore what Scripture says about where our true identity is found and why lasting peace comes from knowing God rather than chasing the approval of people.

Scripture discussed: Genesis 3, Ecclesiastes 3:11, Psalm 139, Galatians 1:10, and Isaiah 43:1.

  • Out of the Depths: Finding God in the Struggle
    2026/06/17

Psalm 130 begins with a cry from the depths. Before victory, before celebration, before relief, there is a person calling out to God in the middle of struggle.

In this episode, we talk about why stories of redemption resonate so deeply with us. From worship music and country songs to movies and biblical examples, we explore how pain, repentance, forgiveness, and hope are woven throughout the Christian journey.

Why do redemption stories hit us so hard? Why do songs about struggle often feel so real? And how do we hold on to hope without pretending life is always easy?

Join us as we discuss Psalm 130, the prodigal son, the apostle Paul, and the promise Jesus gives us in John 16:33:

"In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

  • Many Are Called, Few Are Chosen: The Parable That Made Me Examine My Faith
    2026/06/09

In this episode of Faith is a Journey, I share a surprising moment that happened while reading my Bible. After opening to Matthew 22 and reading Jesus' Parable of the Wedding Feast, one verse stopped me in my tracks:

"Many are called, but few are chosen."

As we unpack the parable together, we explore what the wedding feast represents, why some rejected the invitation, and what it means that one guest was thrown out for not wearing the proper wedding garments.

Most importantly, the passage led me to ask a difficult question:

Am I truly trusting God, or am I just saying that I trust God?

We discuss the difference between outward religion and genuine faith, the warning found in Matthew 7, and why this parable isn't about having a bad day or struggling with fear. It's about whether we're coming to God on our terms or His.

If you've ever wrestled with doubts, wondered what Jesus meant by "many are called, but few are chosen," or found yourself examining your own faith, this conversation is for you.

    Scripture: Matthew 22:1-14

  • Remember Lot’s Wife: Why We Keep Looking Back
    2026/05/26

In this episode of Faith Is a Journey, we talk about the story of Lot’s wife and why her story still matters today.

Was her sin really just “looking back,” or was something deeper going on?

We explore how fear, comfort, anxiety, grief, nostalgia, and attachment to the past can keep us spiritually stuck. From Jesus saying “Remember Lot’s wife” in Luke 17 to our own struggles with loss, pressure, control, and learning to trust God, this became one of the most personal conversations we’ve had.

This isn’t a polished theology lecture. It’s a real kitchen-table conversation about scripture, life, and what it means to let go and move forward in faith.

    Topics we discuss:

    • The story of Lot and Lot’s wife
    • Why people struggle to let go
    • Fear of the unknown
    • Trusting God during uncertainty
    • Anxiety and control
    • Grief and moving forward
    • What Jesus meant by “Remember Lot’s wife”
    • How the past can keep us spiritually stuck

    “And don’t look back.”

  • The Armor of God: The Battle You Can’t See
    2026/05/21

Most Christians know about the Armor of God from Ephesians 6. But what does it actually mean to “put it on” daily?

In this episode, we sit down for an honest kitchen-table conversation about spiritual warfare, distraction, anxiety, drift, and the unseen battles that can quietly pull people away from God.

We talk about: • What “not flesh and blood” really means • Why spiritual warfare is usually more subtle than people think • Breaking down each piece of the Armor of God • Why truth, peace, faith, and scripture matter daily • How success, comfort, and distraction can slowly pull us away from dependence on God • Why staying spiritually grounded requires daily discipline

This is not a fear-driven conversation about demons behind every problem. It’s a real discussion about staying close to Christ in a world full of noise, distraction, and spiritual drift.

Ephesians 6 reminds us that the battle is real, but so is the victory already won in Christ.

  • What Our Parents Never Gave Us
    2026/05/06

Some of the deepest wounds in life don’t come from what happened to us.

They come from what never happened at all.

The conversations we never had. The approval we never received. The comfort, encouragement, or guidance we spent years wishing for.

In this episode of Faith Is a Journey, we reflect on grief, parenting, childhood memories, and the empty places many of us still carry long into adulthood.

But what if those gaps weren’t accidents?

What if the things our parents never gave us were the very things that pushed us toward God?

    We talk honestly about:

    • chasing approval
    • success that still feels empty
    • learning to stop blaming the past
    • why discomfort often deepens faith
    • and how God fills the places people never could

This is one of our most personal conversations yet, including an original song called “Hold On” inspired by a childhood memory and the realization that the hand we were meant to reach for was never just our parents’… but His.

If you’ve ever struggled with loss, regret, unmet expectations, or wondering why certain voids exist in your life, this episode is for you.
