Topic: GOD'S PROGRESSIVE REVELATION TO MAN!
Memory Verse: "He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?" - Matthew 16:15 KJV
Bible Text: Matthew 16:13 KJV
13. When Jesus came into the coasts of Cæsarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
INSPIRATION: Our God is known for processes, timing and revelation. He reveals a part of Himself to us per time, thereby, making it foolhardy for anyone to claim to have known all there is about God. As mysterious as this is, each person's understanding of God is shaped, not necessarily by the side of Him that is revealed but by the light that shines in our heart at the point of revelation. Hence, two people can gaze on an aspect of God at the same time, but each one would come out with a different revelation.
Knowing this about himself, He introduces Himself to Moses as, "I AM WHO I AM and WHAT I AM, and I WILL BE WHAT I WILL BE; ..." (Exo. 3:14 AMPC). In other words, you're as limited in your knowledge of Me as the part of Me that I reveal to you. It makes absolute sense then when He shows Moses another side or definition of Himself in Exodus 3:6, "I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob as God Almighty [El-Shaddai], but by My name the Lord [Yahweh–the redemptive name of God] I did not make Myself known to them [in acts and great miracles]. [Gen. 17:1.]" This should drive you to seek more of God.
TODAY'S TAKE HOME:
God is progressively revelatory. Everyone who searches for God, concludes like Paul, "Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unfathomable (inscrutable, unsearchable) are His judgments (His decisions)! And how untraceable (mysterious, undiscoverable) are His ways (His methods, His paths)!" (Romans 11:33 AMPC)
PRAYER: O Lord, may I be sensitive to Your revelation and discerning enough to know what You reveal per time. Teach me to walk in the fullness of this knowledge each passing day, in Jesus name.
