• Discovering God's Heart for the Nations | Fall 2025 | Lesson 10
    2025/10/23

That holy tension you feel in your heart isn't anxiety - it's an assignment from God. Divine calling isn't reserved for a select few; instead, God asks 'Who will go for us?' and waits for our willing response. The call comes to everyone, but hearing it depends on the condition of our spiritual ears and our readiness to say 'Here I am. Send me.'Discovering God's calling begins with asking the right questions and listening for what breaks your heart. Every powerful work of God starts with a question, just as Nehemiah's story began when he inquired about Jerusalem. Your journey starts with praying 'Where do you want me? What do you want me to do?'

God often reveals His calling through what moves us to tears or stirs righteous anger within us. Your past pain and brokenness aren't wasted - they're preparation for your purpose. Fear is normal and biblical, but it doesn't disqualify you from God's calling. Even Nehemiah admitted being 'very much afraid' yet still moved forward in obedience. Following Nehemiah's example, we learn to pray persistently, ask for God's favor, make concrete plans, assess situations carefully, and cast a vision to others. God doesn't call the equipped; He equips the called. You are uniquely created to reflect Christ's love in ways only you can. When you step into your calling, you experience God in tremendous measure and find the greatest joy in serving within the sweet spot of your divine purpose.

  • Everyday Gospel | Fall 2025 | Lesson 2
    2025/10/23

The Gospel extends beyond a simple salvation message—it's a comprehensive story that should transform how we approach relationships, parenting, work, and every daily experience. Being Gospel fluent means understanding how God's narrative speaks directly to real-life struggles, whether someone is dealing with marriage difficulties, addiction, or feelings of worthlessness. Just as learning any language requires understanding the cultural context and stories that give words meaning, grasping the Gospel requires comprehending the overarching narrative that makes sense of our existence.

The Gospel story unfolds through four key movements that address humanity's fundamental questions. Creation answers how it all began and why we exist, revealing God as holy, powerful, good, and sovereign. Humans were created as the pinnacle of God's work, made in His image with inherent dignity, purpose for worship and dominion, perfect fellowship with God, and authority to rule the earth. This foundation gives meaning to our circumstances because we serve a God who created everything with intention and design.

The Fall explains what went wrong when Adam and Eve chose rebellion over obedience, bringing deception, disobedience, pride, separation, shame, and death into the world. The tragic result wasn't just learning about evil—they became evil, experiencing it personally for the first time. This curse affects everything today: broken relationships, dysfunctional families, shame that drives us to hide, pride that makes us want to be our own God, and futile attempts to fix ourselves through earthly means. Understanding our created dignity and fallen condition prepares us to fully appreciate the rescue and restoration that comes through Jesus Christ.

  • Discovering God's Heart for the Nations | Fall 2025 | Lesson 9
    2025/10/16

Every believer is God's masterpiece, uniquely created with specific spiritual gifts, passions, and purposes that contribute to His kingdom work. According to Ephesians 2:10, we are created anew in Christ Jesus to do the good things God planned for us long ago. Just as no two people have identical fingerprints, no one else can fulfill the specific assignment God has created you for. When you're not using your gifts and serving in your designated place, the whole picture of God's work remains incomplete. Many Christians fall into three categories regarding their kingdom purpose: focused, fragmented, or frustrated. Those with focused purpose understand their gifts and use them consistently, experiencing regular fulfillment. Others have fragmented purpose, occasionally serving but lacking a master plan for their calling. Some feel frustrated, confused about their specific purpose, and merely survive rather than thrive. Understanding what breaks your heart is crucial to discovering your calling, as often our greatest heartaches become preparation for our greatest ministry opportunities. God calls believers to move beyond being consumers of church services to becoming contributors in His kingdom work. The harvest is plentiful, but workers are few, and there's an indescribable joy that comes from selflessly serving the Lord. By taking a spiritual gifts inventory and reflecting on what breaks your heart, you can discover your unique assignment and step boldly into the role God has specifically designed for you.

  • Everyday Gospel | Fall 2025 | Lesson 1
    2025/10/16

Have you ever wondered if there's a difference between knowing about the Gospel and truly living it out? Many believers can recite the basic facts of salvation but struggle to apply Gospel truths to their everyday challenges. This is the difference between knowing the Gospel and becoming fluent in it.

Gospel fluency goes beyond memorizing a three-minute evangelism script. It means learning to think, feel, and speak in the language of the Gospel so naturally that it becomes your heart language. Just as you believe in your native language without effort, Gospel fluency means processing life's situations through the lens of what Christ has accomplished.

When you're fluent in the Gospel, you can articulate how God's good news meets someone struggling in their marriage, having difficulty parenting, or feeling purposeless in their work. The Gospel becomes more than a salvation message—it becomes the framework through which you understand and respond to all of life.

    2025/10/09

Every believer is God's unique masterpiece, created with intentional design for specific kingdom purposes. According to Ephesians 2:10, we are God's handiwork, created to do good works that He prepared in advance for us to accomplish. Just as no two fingerprints are identical, God has crafted each person with a distinct combination of spiritual gifts, passions, abilities, personality traits, and life experiences that work together to equip them for their divine assignment. Many believers struggle to discover and use their unique design because they fall into the trap of comparing themselves to others or believing their past disqualifies them from service. However, God uses all our experiences, both positive and challenging, for His glory and to help others. The church functions like a puzzle where every piece has a specific shape and place, and when pieces are missing, the picture remains incomplete. The SHAPE acronym provides a framework for discovering our unique design: Spiritual gifts, Heart passions, Abilities, Personality, and Experiences. By understanding these five areas, believers can identify how God has specifically equipped them to contribute to His kingdom and participate in the Great Commission. The ultimate goal is to use our God-given shape to make a significant difference for Christ and eventually hear the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant from our Master."

    2025/10/09

The Christian life is described as a race that requires intentional running toward a specific finish line. To run this spiritual race with endurance, we need two essential elements: community support from fellow believers who encourage our faith journey, and a fixed focus on Jesus as both our example and goal. However, we must also lay aside weights and sins that hinder our progress. These weights often include good things that have become more important than our relationship with God, such as work, family, or even perfectionism. The foundation for spiritual endurance comes from experiencing God's love deeply, not just understanding it intellectually. This experiential knowledge develops through consistent spiritual disciplines and walking with Jesus over time, powered by God's strength rather than our own efforts.

  • Discovering God's Heart for the Nations | Fall 2025 | Lesson 7
    2025/10/02

Throughout human history, God has been working toward bringing people from every nation, tribe, and language into His kingdom. This redemptive plan has moved through distinct phases - from the Patriarchs to Israel's captivity, through the periods of Judges and Kings, to Christ's coming and the early church, and finally to the ends of the earth where we are now. The spread of Christianity from a small movement in Jerusalem to a worldwide faith is truly remarkable. Three key figures represent the eras of modern missionary movements: William Carey (the father of Protestant missions who focused on coastlands), Hudson Taylor (who founded the China Inland Mission to reach interior regions), and William Cameron Townsend (who established Wycliffe Bible Translators after realizing the importance of reaching people in their native languages). Despite their efforts and those of countless others, billions of people in the '10/40 Window' still have little or no access to the Gospel. However, Revelation 7:9-12 assures us that eventually people from every nation, tribe, and language will stand before God's throne. Heaven will be a place of unspeakable joy and peace in Jesus' presence, where sin is completely removed. As C.S. Lewis beautifully expressed, all of our earthly existence will be just the cover and title page of the Great Story that continues forever in eternity.

  • Formed by Grace | Fall 2025 | Lesson 7
    2025/10/02

Jesus challenged conventional wisdom when He taught that in God's kingdom, the path to greatness runs through service. Unlike worldly leadership that exercises control over others, kingdom leadership means becoming a servant to all. This radical concept is exemplified by Jesus Himself, who came not to be served but to serve and give His life as a ransom for many. Serving others requires genuine humility—counting others as more significant than ourselves, just as Christ demonstrated by emptying Himself and taking the form of a servant. As believers, we've each received spiritual gifts that we're called to steward by using them to serve others for God's glory. There's a profound difference between serving out of obligation versus serving from joy; the latter flows from our identity in Christ and brings fulfillment even amid fatigue.

Our financial stewardship also reflects our understanding that everything we have belongs to God and that we're simply managing what He has entrusted us. When we serve through love, we experience true freedom. Ironically, those most focused on themselves tend to be most miserable, while those who consistently serve others often experience the most joy and contentment. By identifying opportunities to serve, assessing our spiritual gifts, examining our giving habits, and looking for ways to serve even in difficult seasons, we can live out the values of God's upside-down kingdom.
