We strive to make the world fall in love with seasonal flowers, especially our own homegrown blooms. Why Boundaries Matter

As creative professionals and mothers, the line between work and home life often blurs, leading to stress and potential burnout. We wanted to take some time to share our personal strategies for maintaining clear boundaries that help us manage our businesses without sacrificing family time.

Productivity Strategies

Each of us has specific morning routines that give us the confidence to meet the day and whatever challenges may arise. We have found that writing our to-do lists before getting started helps us clear our minds and prioritize our daily tasks. And one thing that has really helped keep our priorities where they need to be is block scheduling. Not only does this keep us focused, but it prevents our professional life from spilling over into our family time.

What Boundaries Realistically Look Like For Each of Us

Tara - prioritizes client communications and managing her daily tasks in order of importance.

Jessica - emphasizes the importance of block scheduling to avoid overworking and maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Samantha - shares insights into using tools like Calendly to manage client interactions efficiently, respecting her time and that of her clients.

Combating Burnout

We have learned this lesson the hard way and wanted to share how you can avoid common pitfalls as a mompreneur. Make sure you’re setting realistic work hours. And don’t be afraid to be firm with scheduling. Plus, remember how important it is to take breaks to recharge, especially during peak seasons.

The Impact of Community

As solo entrepreneurs, often caught up in our echo chambers, the value of community becomes starkly apparent when we need advice or someone who speaks our language. For us—Tara, Jessica, and myself—our journey began a few years ago in a mastermind group for business owners. Transitioning into motherhood photography from wedding photography marked a period of immense growth and learning, underscored by the invaluable relationships we formed.

The Mastermind Experience

The mastermind not only provided us with crucial business insights but more importantly, it introduced us to like-minded entrepreneurs who could relate to the challenges of balancing business with motherhood. This community has been instrumental in up-leveling our businesses beyond what we could have achieved on our own.

Continuing Connections

Post-mastermind, our refusal to lose this valuable connection led us to maintain our ties through Voxer, where we exchanged voice memos about everything from pricing strategies to client management. This ongoing conversation sparked the idea for this podcast, aiming to share these rich discussions with a wider audience.
