  • No Time to Work Out? Here's What to Do Instead of Skipping | Ep 92
    2026/07/01

Ever feel like a busy schedule is sabotaging your fitness goals? Hey there! 👋 I'm Jayd Harrison (Jaydigains), personal trainer and host of the Coaching Corner podcast. In this episode, I break down what to do when you can't find a consecutive 45-60 minute block for your workout — and why skipping it entirely shouldn't be your default. Drawing on lessons I give my personal training clients every week, I share why "something is better than nothing" needs to become your new mindset, especially if you tend toward all-or-nothing thinking when it comes to exercise.

I walk through three practical strategies for staying consistent during busy seasons: using just your warmup as a complete mini-session, breaking your full workout into muscle-group "chunks" you can tackle throughout the day, and prioritizing the highest-value exercises when you're truly pressed for time. I also explain the training logic behind why keeping same-muscle-group exercises together matters for building strength and size, so you can make smart decisions about how to adapt your workout without sacrificing your results.

Most importantly, this episode is a reminder that consistency beats perfection. Partial workouts and chunked sessions aren't a failure — they're what keep your momentum alive during hard seasons, so you don't have to restart from zero when life calms back down. If you're ready for a coach who can help you build a sustainable routine that flexes with your real life, apply to work with me using the link in the show notes.

  • My Fat Loss Journey Part 3: End of Week 2 Check-In
    2026/06/21

Hey there! 👋 I'm Jayd Harrison (Jaydigains), personal trainer and host of the Coaching Corner podcast.

In this episode, I'm continuing my personal Fat Loss Transformation journey with an honest end-of-week check-in for Week 2. I walk through my new progress photos and flexing pics (including why I switched up my outfit to capture muscle definition), share the real reason my weight spiked after a weekend treat day, and explain why those big scale jumps don't mean what most people think they mean. I also open up about working around a strained quad — choosing to turn a planned leg day into a mobility and stability session instead of pushing through pain.

Beyond the numbers, I dive into my training split for the week, from leg press progressions and 3D lunges to an upper-body push/press day I streamed live on Twitch. I talk through my calorie intake strategy, why I'm considering accelerating my deficit slightly, and how creatine and hydration have been supporting my recovery. I also give you an inside look at my meal prep challenges — including a cereal impulse buy gone sideways and the bloat-and-recovery cycle that comes with eating outside my usual routine.

This episode is a candid look at what real, sustainable fat loss actually looks like week to week — fluctuations, treat days, minor injuries, and all. If you're on your own fat loss journey or curious about coaching with me, you'll find the link to apply for a free consultation in the show notes.

  • My Fat Loss Journey Part 2: End of Week 1 Reflection | Ep 90
    2026/06/08

Hey there! 👋 I'm Jayd Harrison (Jaydigains), personal trainer and host of the Coaching Corner podcast.

One week into my six-month fat loss journey, and the data is already telling an interesting story. In this episode, I'm sharing my Week 2 end-of-week reflection — including what I discovered after tracking every single meal and doing daily weigh-ins for seven days straight. The biggest surprise? I was undereating before I started, and eating more consistently is actually what's moving the needle. I break down why chronic undereating can slow your metabolism and work against fat loss, why daily weigh-ins give you better data than once-a-week check-ins, and how I'm using that first week of numbers to set up my calorie targets for the months ahead.

I also walk you through how my first week of training went — the good and the not-so-smart. I started my new four-day upper/lower split, got in some great pressing, pulling, and deadlift work, and experienced firsthand what happens when you skip your dynamic warm-up on leg day (spoiler: your knee reminds you about it for the next two days). I talk through each workout, what felt strong, what I'd do differently, and how I'm thinking about progressive overload while staying in a deficit.

If you're on your own fat loss journey — or thinking about starting one — this series is for you. I'm sharing the real numbers, the real mistakes, and everything I'm learning along the way. My Fat Loss Transformation Program is open if you want a coach guiding you through the same process. Find the link in the show notes, and follow the show so you never miss a weekly check-in.
