    Welcome to Cager’s Coffee Break!

Have you ever tried to quietly sneak into the kitchen for a little snack? You know the routine. You aren't REALLY hungry. You're just “checking to see what's in there.” Apparently the refrigerator inventory may have changed dramatically in the last twenty minutes. You open the door. Nothing new. You close it. Then you open the pantry. Still nothing new. And somehow, five minutes later, you're standing at the counter eating crackers straight from the package. Nobody saw you. Except the dog. And the dog is absolutely willing to testify in exchange for one cracker. There are moments when life requires courage. And then there are moments when you need to be Fearless. Fearless is our dark, earthy espresso-style offering at Cager’s Coffee, created for those times when you want a cup with some backbone and personality. Here’s your Coffee Fact: Contrary to what many people assume, darker-roasted coffee doesn't automatically mean dramatically more caffeine. Roast level changes flavor, aroma, density, and other characteristics, but caffeine depends on several factors, including the type of coffee, how much coffee you use, and the brewing method. That's why choosing a darker roast is often more about the flavor experience than simply chasing caffeine. And there's something else I like about the word Fearless. Everyday courage doesn't always look dramatic. Sometimes courage is trying again. Sometimes it's making that phone call you've been putting off. Sometimes it's admitting you need help. And sometimes it's simply getting up tomorrow and giving life another shot. So pour yourself a cup of Fearless, take a good sip, and remind yourself that you don't have to conquer the whole world today. Just take the next step. And if that next step happens to lead toward the pantry again, remember—the dog knows everything, so remember keep brewing kindness one cup at a time.

    Welcome to Cager’s Coffee Break!

Have you ever been so tired that you searched for something while you were already holding it? You walk around saying, “Where is my phone?” You check the counter. The couch. Your purse. Maybe even the refrigerator—because apparently we've reached that stage of the search. Then you realize you're TALKING ON THE PHONE. There's really no graceful recovery from that. You simply sit down and accept that your brain has officially closed for maintenance. And that sounds like the perfect time for Espíritu de Colombia Decaf. Sometimes you want the warmth, aroma, ritual, and wonderful flavor of coffee without adding more caffeine to your day. That's where a good decaf earns its place. Espíritu de Colombia lets you enjoy that comforting coffee experience when you're ready to slow things down a little. Here’s your Coffee Fact: Decaf coffee isn't necessarily completely caffeine-free. The decaffeination process removes the vast majority of caffeine, but a small amount can remain. That's why “decaffeinated” and “zero caffeine” don't necessarily mean exactly the same thing. And here's something worth remembering: slowing down isn't the same thing as doing nothing. Sometimes sitting quietly with a cup of coffee gives us a chance to gather our thoughts, appreciate the day, and simply enjoy being where we are. We don't always need to be rushing toward the next thing. So pour yourself some Espíritu de Colombia Decaf and enjoy the slower side of coffee. Put your feet up.

Relax. And if you're looking for your glasses while they're sitting on top of your head, don't worry we’re not telling anybody, so remember keep brewing kindness one cup at a time.

    Welcome to Cager’s Coffee Break!

Have you ever tried to open a jar that absolutely refused to cooperate? First you twist politely. Nothing. Then you use both hands. Nothing. Then you tap the lid against the counter because somebody once told you that works. Still nothing. Now it's personal. You grab a towel, reposition your feet, tighten your grip, and suddenly you're in a full-body wrestling match with a jar of pickles. Finally—POP!

The lid opens. And you stand there triumphantly like you just won an Olympic gold medal.

Sometimes being fearless doesn't mean conquering mountains. Sometimes it means refusing to be defeated by condiments. And that's why we're talking about Fearless from Cager’s Coffee. Fearless is our darker, earthy espresso-style coffee with a bold personality. It's the kind of cup that says, “Okay, morning. Let's do this.” Here’s your Coffee Fact: Espresso isn't a particular type of coffee bean. It's a brewing method. Coffee is ground finely and brewed under pressure to produce that small, concentrated cup we call espresso. Different coffees and roast profiles can be used to create an espresso. And maybe Fearless is a pretty good word to carry into everyday life. Being fearless doesn't mean we never hesitate. It means we keep going anyway. Maybe today you're facing something much bigger than a stubborn jar. Take it one step at a time. You don't have to solve everything before breakfast. Start with the next thing. And perhaps start with a good cup of Fearless. As for the pickle jar? We always knew you could take it, so remain consistent in your approach and remember keep brewing kindness one cup at a time.

    Hello!

    Welcome to Cager’s Coffee Break!

There are certain moments in life when you immediately know you've made a mistake.

Like deciding you'll carry ALL the grocery bags into the house in one trip. Because making two trips would apparently be a personal failure. So there you are with bags hanging from both arms, milk wedged against your hip, your purse sliding off your shoulder, and you're trying to unlock the front door using one finger. Then something starts slipping. Do you put everything down? Of course not! You begin performing some kind of grocery-store ballet while whispering, “Don't drop the eggs. Don't drop the eggs!” You finally make it inside feeling like you just climbed Mount Everest. Which brings us quite nicely to Blame It on the Volcano! This Guatemalan coffee brings delicious chocolate, caramel, and toffee characteristics to your cup. And with a name like Blame It on the Volcano, you already know this isn't going to be a boring cup of coffee. Here’s your Coffee Fact: Volcanic regions can provide excellent conditions for growing coffee. Volcanic soils are often rich in minerals, and when combined with suitable elevation and climate, they can help create an environment where coffee plants thrive. So yes, sometimes you really CAN blame it on the volcano! Life has plenty of little eruptions of its own—plans change, groceries fall, schedules go sideways, and sometimes the only sensible response is to laugh. Because not everything needs to become a crisis. Sometimes it's just a broken egg. Pour yourself a cup of Blame It on the Volcano, enjoy those chocolate, caramel, and toffee notes, and remember: tomorrow's another day. And next time, make two trips with the groceries. May you have a blessed day, and remember keep brewing kindness one cup at a time.

    Welcome to Cager’s Coffee Break!

Have you ever started cleaning one tiny thing and somehow ended up reorganizing half your house? It starts innocently. “I’m just going to clean this drawer.” Three hours later, you've got four trash bags, a pile for donations, seventeen mystery cords that apparently belong to electronics you haven't owned since 2009, and you're sitting on the floor looking through old photographs. The drawer? Still isn't clean. At this point, we need coffee—and preferably something with a little class. Enter Classy Jazz. Classy Jazz brings together delicious hazelnut and chocolate characteristics for a cup that feels a little indulgent without requiring a special occasion. It’s smooth, inviting, and just sophisticated enough to make you feel like you have your life completely together—even when there are seventeen unidentified electrical cords sitting beside you. Here’s your Coffee Fact: Your sense of smell plays an enormous role in how you experience coffee. Much of what we call “flavor” is actually connected to aroma. That's why taking a moment to smell freshly brewed coffee before that first sip can enhance the entire experience. Maybe that's also a reminder not to hurry through everything. We spend so much time trying to get to the next task, appointment, responsibility, or destination that we can forget to enjoy where we are. So brew yourself some Classy Jazz. Sit down. Enjoy that hazelnut-and-chocolate experience and give yourself permission to leave that drawer until tomorrow. After all, those mystery cords have been there for fifteen years, so another day isn't going to hurt them. May you have a blessed day and remember keep brewing kindness one cup at a time.

    Welcome to Cager’s Coffee Break!

You know you’re having an interesting morning when you put something somewhere “so you won’t forget where it is.” Oh yes. You picked the PERFECT place. A safe place. A logical place. A place so incredibly brilliant that apparently even YOU will never find it again. Then you spend twenty minutes searching the house while giving yourself a running commentary: “I KNOW I put it right here.” No, you didn't. “Well, somebody moved it.” You live alone. Eventually you find it exactly where you put it and stare at it like it personally betrayed you. That kind of morning calls for Snooty. Snooty may have a fancy name, but you don't need to put on your Sunday best to drink it. With fruity, floral, and nutty characteristics, this Cager’s Coffee blend is perfect when you want something with a little personality in your cup. Here’s your Coffee Fact: Coffee can contain hundreds of aromatic compounds. Those compounds contribute to the wonderful aromas and flavor impressions we describe as fruity, floral, nutty, chocolatey, spicy, and more. Nothing has to be artificially added for coffee to remind your senses of those flavors. That’s part of the fun of slowing down and actually tasting your coffee instead of gulping it while looking for your car keys. Life is like that, too. Sometimes we rush so quickly through our days that we miss the little things—the phone call from a friend, a beautiful sunrise, somebody holding the door, or five peaceful minutes with a really good cup of coffee. Snooty reminds us that it's perfectly okay to slow down and savor something. You can even stick your pinky out while you drink it. We won't judge, so remember keep brewing kindness one cup at a time.

    Welcome to Cager’s Coffee Break!

Have you ever walked confidently into a room, stopped dead in your tracks, and realized you had absolutely no idea why you went in there? So you stand there thinking, “Okay, brain. I know we had a plan.” Nothing. You walk back into the other room, sit down—and suddenly remember! So you get back up, return to the room, and by the time you get there...you’ve forgotten AGAIN. At that point, forget the mission. It’s time for coffee! And if we’re going to regroup, we might as well do it with a cup of Janise Joy. Janise Joy is one of our signature blends at Cager’s Coffee, bringing together Colombian, Ethiopian, and Mexican coffees in a smooth medium roast. It’s the kind of coffee made for those everyday moments when life gets a little scattered and you need to sit down, enjoy your cup, and find your joy again. And here’s your Coffee Fact: Did you know that coffee grown in different regions can have dramatically different natural flavor characteristics? Climate, elevation, rainfall, soil, and processing methods all influence what eventually develops in your cup. That’s one reason blending coffees from different origins can create such an interesting and balanced flavor experience. Maybe there’s a little life lesson hiding in that coffee cup, too. Sometimes the best things come from bringing together different experiences. The sweet days, difficult days, crazy days, and “why-did-I-come-into-this-room?” days all become part of our story. So today, pour yourself a cup of Janise Joy, sit down for a few minutes, and enjoy the moment. And if you suddenly remember what you went into that other room for—finish your coffee first. It obviously waited this long, and don’t forget to keep brewing kindness one cup at a time.

Have you ever leaned over in church to whisper something to the person beside you, thinking nobody could hear...and somehow your whisper echoed across three pews? Suddenly everyone turns around, and you're trying to look innocent while staring very intently at the hymnal. We've all had one of those moments!

Today's featured coffee is our Janise Joy blend—a wonderful reminder that joy isn't just something we chase; it's something we choose. With its smooth blend of Colombian, Ethiopian, and Mexican beans, it's a peaceful companion for a quiet Sunday morning.

Today's coffee fact: Freshly roasted coffee reaches its peak flavor after it has rested for a few days. Right after roasting, the beans release carbon dioxide in a process called "degassing." Allowing them to rest briefly before brewing often produces a smoother, more flavorful cup.

As you enjoy today, remember that laughter is one of God's sweetest gifts. A joyful heart, a grateful spirit, and time spent with loved ones can make even an ordinary day feel extraordinary, and remember, keep brewing kindness one cup at a time.
