When we actually compare notes across witchcraft, occult practice, mediumship, and lived experience, the “paranormal” starts to look a lot more like a normal part of being human. Bell. Together, we ask the real question behind every haunting: what are we actually encountering? We explore the idea that ghosts can be the souls of dead people, but also that they might be emotional imprints, thoughtforms, or egregores shaped by attention and belief. One line changes the whole frame: saints are ghosts too, because devotion keeps the presence of once-living people active in the world. From there, the stories hit.     The fall equinox can feel like a line in the calendar, but it is also experienced in your body and your lifestyle. We take a listener question from our community and explore what it actually means to celebrate the autumn equinox when your weather, your schedule, and even your landscape do not match the classic “crunchy leaves” picture.

    From Granddaughter Crow’s shamanic perspective, we talk about equilibrium as something you can sense across the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual bodies. That theme turns into practical ideas you can try immediately: step outside and notice the light, the temperature, and the earlier sunsets, then ask yourself what kind of balance fits this season. We also get delightfully nerdy about a folk practice you may have heard of: balancing an egg on the equinox as a tiny ritual for finding your center.

    You can learn a lot of tarot keywords and still feel stuck the moment a real question hits. We wanted to get underneath that frustration and talk about what actually makes divination work: listening, timing, symbolism, and the courage to respond. Our guest JoAnna Ferrar (Llewellyn author, priestess, divination teacher, and professional violinist) brings a rare blend of musical training and spiritual practice that makes the “language” of signs feel practical instead of mystical and vague.

    We dig into why silence matters as much as sound and how pauses create the space where intuition can speak. JoAnna walks us through her nature-led approach from The Diviner Path, including the idea that divination is a cycle you live inside: realizing you have a question, shaping it, choosing a method (tarot, pendulum, runes, omens), interpreting, taking action, and returning to reflect. We also talk about the modern “party trick” version of divination and why it can feel scary when you skip the action step and forget you’re a participant in the conversation.

    From there we head outdoors for augury, omen walks, and the art of rebuilding observation in the natural world, then into dream divination without rigid dream dictionaries.
