  • Afraid to fart podcast, Episode 7 — You've Been Swallowing What?
    2026/10/15

What if IBS isn't your body being dramatic — but your gut trying to file a very overdue complaint?

Marion Bevington brings humour and hard-won honesty to a conversation about swallowed anger, shaky boundaries, shame, and the messages our bodies may be sending. She reframes IBS as "I've Been Swallowing" — connecting the phrase to unspoken family anger, shame, and the difficulty of saying no.

From her cheekily renamed condition to the Stress-Free Fart Formula and Anger Management for Arseholes, Marion explores what can happen when we're taught to keep quiet and say yes when we mean no. She reflects on the difference between privacy and secrecy, and shares candid thoughts on blindness, asking for help, and the everyday absurdity of living with voice technology.

Her perspective is a prompt for reflection, not a substitute for medical advice — but expect a funny, frank, and unexpectedly moving chat about bodies, boundaries, and letting go of shame. Because sometimes your gut has a point, even if its delivery is... unmistakable.

  • Afraid to fart podcast, episode five the polite police, the time thieves and the truth murderers
    2026/10/01

    Pavlovian bells, dogs and pigs

What can being afraid to fart teach us about shame, truth, and reclaiming our power? In this episode of *Afraid to Fart*, Marion Bevington turns a taboo subject into a candid conversation about fear, trauma, critical thinking, and the courage to be yourself.

Marion shares how childhood punishment and shame shaped her relationship with her body, and why she believes “manners murders the truth.” A curious mismatch between her phone and a local clock tower opens the door to a wider reflection on time, timelines, and questioning the systems and beliefs we take for granted.

Along the way, Marion explores how fear and shame can keep us from living authentically, how our emotional state affects the people around us, and why kindness and compassion matter as much as courage. She also reflects on trauma, the difference between healing and armoring up, and the importance of staying flexible, grounded, and present for the journey of life.

Raw, funny, and unconventional, this episode is an invitation to let go of shame, think for yourself, and find the courage to live more honestly.

  • Afraid to fart podcast ep6 Deflecting Hurty Words Disarming Racist Burkes &Deprograming Filthy Turds
    2026/10/03

Podcast description: Afraid to fart podcast episode six Deflecting Hurty Words, Disarming Racist Burkes and Deprogramming Filthy Turds!

What if the labels you defend, the opinions you argue, and the “programming” you never question are the very things keeping you stuck? Marion Bevington turns the idea of being “afraid to fart” into a sharp, funny, and surprisingly practical exploration of identity, truth, and deprogramming.

Marion brings her no-filter perspective to spirituality, human identity, language, labels, and the patterns that shape how we think. Along the way, Howard, her AI voice companion, keeps the conversation moving as Marion considers why curiosity matters more than certainty—and how we might question the beliefs we’ve inherited.

    In this episode, Marion explores:

    - Why she sees opinions as optional, but truth as important

    - How labels can contribute to division and conflict

    - What “deprogramming” means and how old beliefs can influence our lives

    - Why different ways of learning and recognizing patterns deserve understanding

    - How to notice the mental patterns that shape the way we experience the world

Marion also shares her perspective on technology, language, history, and the ways people respond to difference. Her message is blunt but hopeful: question the rules you’ve absorbed, stay curious, and make room for connection beyond labels.

For listeners who feel boxed in by expectations or are curious about new ways to think about identity, learning, and the stories we inherit, this episode offers a provocative conversation with plenty of humor and a call to look inward.

  • Afraid to fart Podcast episode 4 the Pavlovian bell, the dog and the pig
    2026/09/24

    Pavlovian Bells, Dogs and Pigs

What do Pavlov’s dogs, pigs’ bladders, nipple-fiddlers, football, smoking, coffee and your fear of farting have in common?

    Conditioning.

In this episode, Marion takes you on a gloriously irreverent journey into the invisible bells, rules and reactions that train us to behave in ways we may never have consciously chosen.

From Pavlov’s famous dogs to the conditioning of the human body, from cultural expectations to the habits we barely notice, Marion explores how easily a perfectly intelligent body can learn to hold, suppress, obey and adapt.

And if dogs can learn that a bell means dinner, what have we learned to respond to?

    Maybe that farting is rude.

Maybe that being heard is dangerous.

Maybe that certain bodily functions must be controlled, hidden or held in.

But what happens when you start noticing the bell?

You might discover that the thing you thought was “just me” was something you were taught.

Funny, filthy, philosophical and unexpectedly profound, Episode 4 of Afraid to Fart asks a very serious question:

Who—or what—is actually running the show?

  • Afraid to fart, episode three, the sovereign autonomous hippopotamus
    2026/09/17

What does a hippopotamus have to teach us about sovereignty, personal boundaries — and farting?

    Quite a lot, apparently.

In this episode of the Afraid to Fart podcast, Marion Bevington explores what it really means to be autonomous and sovereign: to make your own decisions, know what is actually your territory, and recognise where your territory ends.

Along the way, we enter Marion's meat suit, meat soup and meat stew — her wonderfully irreverent way of exploring the body, emotional metabolisation, learned patterning and the unseen dynamics between people.

There's also the story of her friend's ex-husband, sitting on his throne and proudly unleashing his toxic cloud over everyone else. Because there's a difference between being sovereign in your own space and deliberately invading somebody else's.

    And then comes the hippopotamus.

The Sovereign Autonomous Hippopotamus has a surprisingly useful lesson: find the space that's available to you, make it yours, and don't take anybody else's.

But just when you think we've established exactly what “you” means, Marion takes the conversation one step deeper — into identity.

If you're spiritually curious, fascinated by the body, questioning old conditioning, or simply wondering how farting became such a complicated business, this episode may make you look at your own territory rather differently.

Find your space. Make it yours. Don't take anybody else's.

And just when you think you've worked out who you are, Marion turns the whole thing inside out with one final question:

Who exactly is the “me” that I'm supposed to be sovereign over?

That question leads directly into Episode 4 — conditioning.

  • Afraid to fart , episode 2 What if the body (and its farts) are not the problem?
    2026/09/15

What If Your Body (and Its Farts) Are Not the Problem?

What if being afraid to fart isn't really about farting at all?

In Episode 2 of Afraid to Fart, Marion Bevington takes one of her favourite TikTok comments — “I used to be afraid to fart and then I saw you” — into a bigger exploration of fear, courage, confidence, competence, body awareness, autonomy and sovereignty.

    ### Courage, Fear and the Body

What happens in your body when you're frightened? Marion explores staying present with fear, recognising your choices and no longer being trapped by fear.

Being less afraid to fart doesn't mean farting in somebody's face or ignoring everyone around you. It means discovering that you can stay with yourself when something feels uncomfortable and choose what to do next.

    ### Confidence Comes After Competence

Through hilarious examples involving babies, swimming and driving, Marion challenges the idea that you need confidence before you begin. Competence grows through doing, and confidence can follow.

    ### Stay in the Driver's Seat

Marion explores nervous system regulation, choice and personal agency — becoming still enough to notice what is happening and find the solution available to you.

    ### Autonomy, Sovereignty and the Body

What does it mean to inhabit your own body and life? Marion explores autonomy, embodiment and sovereignty, rather than waiting for somebody else to give you permission to be yourself.

    ### Going Blind, Childhood Patterns and Hypervigilance

Marion shares her experience of going blind, the grief and loss of independence that followed, and rebuilding autonomy.

She explores childhood patterns, hypervigilance and hidden body tension — and asks whether some things we think are simply “who I am” might actually be patterns learned through experience.

    ### Anger, Letting Go and Learning to Like Yourself

The episode explores anger, rage, stubbornness, holding on and letting go, and what can be hidden inside physical tension.

Ultimately, this is about becoming curious about your body rather than treating it as the problem — and learning to like yourself by discovering what's underneath the surface.

What if your body — and its farts — are not actually the problem?

A funny, frank and deeply personal conversation about fear, shame, courage, confidence, body awareness, nervous-system regulation, childhood patterns, hypervigilance, emotional regulation, autonomy, personal agency, embodiment and sovereignty.
