  • Lost medicines, a holistic lens for Afghan healing.
    2022/06/01
    CW: mentions self-harm

In today's episode, Samira and I discuss her journey through healing, specifically how holistic medicines have played a role in that. We discuss modalities/medications that have been helpful for her healing within therapy and gaps within a Western system. She invites us all to reflect on our behaviours, self-love and a decolonial lens of lost medicines.

    Samira jaans intro:
My name is Samira and I'm an Afghan musician based in Toronto. Outside of music I also write & meditate on a regular basis. I grew up with a musical family and classical Afghan instruments played regularly at family functions. In music I hope to keep these sounds and instruments alive for as long as possible. You can stay in touch with Samira: @samira_rawan on Instagram.
