Let the Children Lead | National Children’s Ministry Day

This special Sunday service celebrated National Children’s Ministry Day under the theme:

“Let the Children Lead!”

The heart of the day was simple: children should be given meaningful opportunities to participate in the life and ministry of the church.

Jesus welcomed children and refused to treat them as insignificant.

“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them…” — Matthew 19:14

Our children were encouraged to pray, worship, serve, participate and use the gifts God has given them.

But the deeper goal is not simply participation.

It is discipleship.

We want to see children come to know Jesus Christ, grow in faith, understand Scripture, discover their gifts and become confident witnesses wherever God places them.

May our churches continue to make room for the next generation—not merely on special Sundays, but as part of the ongoing life of the body of Christ.

Worship That Honours God — Malachi 3:6–12

Episode Description:

Is giving simply a financial obligation, or can it become an act of worship?

In Malachi 3:6–12, God speaks to a people whose stewardship had become disconnected from their relationship with Him. Before He addresses their tithes and offerings, He says:

“Return to Me.”

This message explores giving and stewardship through the finished work of Jesus Christ.

We look at three truths:

God wants the worshipper before He wants the offering.
Grace turns stewardship into worship.
We are called to trust the Provider, not the provision.

Christ has fulfilled the Law, carried the curse and brought us to the Father. Because of that, Christian generosity is not driven by fear, manipulation or an attempt to earn blessing. It is a grateful response to the grace of God.

What does Christian generosity really mean?

In this message from Philippians 4:10–20, Sister Chanti explores how generosity becomes prayer in action. Paul celebrates the Philippian believers because they did more than send him a gift—they shared in his burden and became partners in the advance of the gospel.

This passage teaches us that:

• Christ gives us strength to remain faithful in seasons of plenty and need.
• Generosity allows us to participate in God’s Kingdom work.
• Giving from a surrendered heart becomes worship pleasing to God.
• Our heavenly Father remains our faithful Provider.

God’s promise to supply our needs is not a formula for material prosperity. Our confidence rests in Jesus Christ, through whom God has already met our greatest need—salvation and reconciliation with Himself.

Because Christ is enough, we do not have to cling fearfully to what we possess. Because the gospel is worth advancing, we can use what God has entrusted to us for His mission. Because the Father is faithful, we can give without fear.

SEEK THE PEACE OF THE CITY
Jeremiah 29:1–14

What does it mean to live as God’s people in the place where He has positioned us?

In Jeremiah 29, God speaks to His people living in exile and tells them to build, plant, pray and seek the peace of the city.

This sermon explores what faithful presence looks like today.

God remains sovereign even in seasons and places we would not have chosen.

His people are called to pray for and actively seek the good of their communities.

And while we serve faithfully in the present, our ultimate hope remains in Jesus Christ and His coming Kingdom.

FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS Esther 4:13–17

There are moments in life when faith requires more than concern.

It requires action.

Esther found herself in a place of influence while her people faced destruction. Mordecai’s words forced her to ask whether her position was merely for her comfort, or whether she had been placed there to serve others.

In this message, we explore three important truths:

God’s providence gives significance to where He has placed us.

Standing for others requires dependence, courage and surrender.

God works through surrendered obedience for the good of His people.

This is not simply a message about being brave like Esther.

It is ultimately about Jesus Christ.

Esther said, “If I perish, I perish.”

Jesus willingly went to the cross and gave His life for sinners.

Because Christ has given Himself for us, we are free to surrender our lives to His purposes.

Christ Our Great Intercessor | Hebrews 7:23–28

Before Christ calls us to stand in the gap for others, He first stands in the gap for us.

In the opening sermon of our Intercessors for the Nation series, we turn to Hebrews 7:23–28 and discover the foundation of Christian intercession.

Jesus is our perfect and eternal High Priest. His priesthood never ends, His saving work is complete, and He continually represents His people before the Father.

This means our confidence in prayer does not depend on how well we pray, how spiritual we feel, or how strong our faith seems. We come to God through Jesus Christ.

And because Christ has carried us, He begins to form us into a people who carry others before God in prayer.

Big Idea: Before Christ calls us to stand in the gap for others, He first stands in the gap for us.

Listen and be reminded: our confidence is not that our prayers are perfect, but that our High Priest is.

In John 8:1–11, a woman caught in adultery is brought before Jesus by people ready to condemn her.

She is guilty. She is exposed. She is surrounded by accusers.

But then she encounters Jesus.

In this message, Pastor Ndivhuwo Rangwetsi, Deputy Chairperson of the Gauteng North Region, explores what this encounter reveals about the mercy of God.

Jesus neither excuses her sin nor joins the crowd in condemning her. Instead, He extends mercy and calls her into a transformed life:

“Neither do I condemn you… Go now and leave your life of sin.” — John 8:11

This is the heart of the gospel: in Christ, sinners do not merely receive another chance—they meet the Saviour who delivers them from condemnation and calls them into new life.

Listen and be reminded that shame does not have to have the final word. Jesus does.

What qualifications should guide a church when choosing its leaders?

In 1 Timothy 3:1–7, Paul teaches Timothy that spiritual leadership is not primarily about status, popularity, professional success or natural charisma. It is a noble work that requires Christlike character, spiritual maturity and a credible Christian witness.

In this sermon, Pastor Owen Smith explains that:

• Church leadership is a sacred work, not a status symbol.
• God looks first for Christlike character, not impressive charisma.
• Spiritual leadership must be confirmed by a proven life.

The church belongs to Jesus Christ. Those entrusted with leadership are not owners of the house; they are servants called to care faithfully for what belongs to Christ.
