  • Making and Maintaining Adult Friendships
    2023/03/19

Friendships are arguably some of the most important relationships you'll have in life; and unlike family, you get to choose them! Just like any other relationship, they take time and effort to nurture. As we age, though, factors like location, careers and the typical ebs and flows of life can sometimes interfere with these connections. Can a friendship last if you rarely have time to speak or spend time together? How do you make new friends when you're not in a school environment? At this age, what values even qualify a "friendship"?!

This first decade of adulthood did not come with a rule book. Fortunately, this is a space where we can analyze our past, present and future life experiences so that navigate this life sh*t out together! On today's episode, we're talking making and maintaining adult friendships!

  • Ducking Off and Doing YOU, all 2023!
    2023/01/02

With 2023 freshly underway, I think I can speak for us all when I say this word has been heavy on our minds, timelines, and in our conversations...ELEVATION! Whether emotionally, spiritually, physically, financially, or all of the above, the New Year always seems like the time to start fresh. With all the goal setting and vision boarding happening, we must remember to also allocate the proper amount time to realize the plans we've made.

Think about all the periods is your life when you were most successful, productive, and happy.

Were you going out multiple times a week, or staying inside more than usual?

Were you spending more than you save, or saving more than you spend?

Were you engaging in negativity, or focused on maintaining positivity?

    BE FOR REAL

I've learned time and time again that the best version of you is likely the result of focusing on just that. It's not always comfortable, but consistency prevails. If you knew for SURE that your goals for the year would come to pass if you spent most of your time investing in them, would you do it? Of course you would! So... let's act accordingly because in this life, that actually is the case. If separating yourself from the "noise" to go all in on YOU is needs to happen, then it's got to be done.  For many of us, I think we can agree that isolation is necessary for the growth we're seeking! In this episode, we're talking "Ducking Off and Doing You" to create the life you truly want and deserve!

20 Somethings... it's time to make it happen!

  • Recognizing, Analyzing and Setting Boundaries with Toxic Family Members
    2022/04/21

The word "toxic" is all the rave these days. Something like the early-mid 2000's when we wouldn't stop saying words like "Yolo", "Swag" and "Yeet" lol. Though a trendy talking point, relationships with people who have a consistent negative impact on your happiness and well being is nothing new. Setting boundaries with people who fit this description is VITAL to growing, healing and really just living your life. Even though it's a simple task, it's not always easy to implement. This is especially true when it comes to family members (who I'm assuming you love, adore and are used dealing with).

In this episode, we discuss practical ways to go about handling the baneful aspects of these relationships with those we love (even if it's from a distance). Cause guess what... you get to decide who has access to you and just how far that access extends.

    Timeline:

    WOD (Word of the Day)

    Intro

    Personal Reflection

    Take time away from them

Get clear on the part you want them, and stick to it

Realize that analyzing is not solving/"you deserve the life you want" spill
