  • Today on the Joy Curator Podcast we are chatting with Jacqueline Tisher, Visionary Founder + CEO of Hope’s Home. Jacqueline has a profound personal and professional connection to children with complex medical needs. As a Registered Nurse, she dedicated her expertise to the Pediatric ICU and Neonatal ICU, providing care to children facing complex medical challenges. Her journey took a deeply personal turn when her oldest daughter, Acacia, was born with spina bifida, leading to significant hospital stays throughout her childhood. Inspired by her experiences caring for children with complex medical needs, Jacqueline and her family embarked on another avenue of compassion through foster care. In 2003, they opened their home and hearts to foster Hope, a child with medical needs who lived only a brief 10 months, all spent in the hospital. Driven by her dreams and fueled by the profound losses of Hope in 2003 and her daughter Acacia in 2011, Jacqueline transformed her personal journey into a beacon of hope. She turned her aspirations into reality. Hope’s Home now stands as a cornerstone, providing childcare and supportive living homes for children with complex medical needs across Regina, Prince Albert, Saskatoon, and Warman. Jacqueline embodies compassion, dedication, and advocacy, serving as a passionate leader and tireless advocate. Recognized for her exceptional contributions, she has been honored with numerous awards, including the 2010 Saskatchewan Healthcare Excellence Award for Community Leadership, the 2013 YWCA Women of Distinction Award for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, the 2018 U of R Alumni Humanitarian & Community Service Award, and most recently, the 2023 Saskatchewan Order of Merit. Jacqueline selflessly dedicates her time and energy to amplify the voices of children with complex medical needs. Supported by the remarkable staff at Hope’s Home, Jacqueline’s vision has created a sanctuary where special children can simply be kids. Her dream serves as a poignant reminder there truly is no place like Hope.
