Sometimes what is already

As I close out Reclaiming the Space, I am exploring what happened when I recognized that there were opportunities already in front of me that required my participation.

I didn't have to know everything that was on the other side.

I chose to step forward.

And what began with a decision became an abundant blessing.

Access was granted…
And I held the key. 🔑

Sometimes showing up isn’t difficult because of the people around us. Sometimes the greater requirement is what showing up asks of us.

In Week 3 of Reclaiming the Space, I’m reflecting on what I began to notice when I stopped focusing only on how others were showing up and became more aware of what participation required from me.

Showing up asked me to be present.
To communicate.
To become aware of my own patterns.
To recognize where I had responsibility, choice, and room to grow.

This experience reminded me that reclaiming the space isn’t only about entering it—it’s also about becoming aware of how I choose to occupy it once I’m there.

Recognizing the space is one thing.

How I show up in it is another.

As I continue experiencing Reclaiming the Space, I am becoming aware that reclaiming does not always mean finding somewhere new to go.

Sometimes, I can reclaim how I show up where I already am.

In this experience, motherhood becomes a doorway for me to examine the relationship between identity, participation, and becoming, and to recognize that there is still a Maria in that space.

What if someone is looking for something you carry—but neither of you knows it yet?

As I begin October with Reclaiming the Space, an unexpected opportunity has me thinking differently about visibility and discovery.

Sometimes being seen isn’t about seeking attention. It can simply create the possibility for something we carry to be discovered.

In this experience, I share what happened when I showed up in a space without looking for a doorway, and a doorway opened. 🚪🌱

What do I carry that someone else may be looking for, and have I allowed it to be discovered?

What happens when something I willingly chose to give quietly becomes something I expect someone else to return?

In this week's experience, I'm looking at release through a different lens.

I'm becoming aware that I can value support, reciprocity, and connection while also recognizing that:

I can honor my willingness without turning it into someone else's obligation.

This week's self-assessment:

What am I expecting from someone because of what I willingly chose to give?

My I AM statement:

I AM releasing expectations that were never agreements.

And in releasing them, I'm noticing something else:

My choice created space.

What if you've been paying so much attention to what was fighting you that you haven't noticed what was already working within you?

In this week's experience, I'm looking back at a moment in my life through the awareness I have TUHDAY—not to judge the woman I was with everything I know now, but to notice what was already there.

I was willing to ask.
I was willing to learn.
I was willing to advocate.
And I was willing to show up.

This experience led me to one self-assessment:

What is already in me that I haven't recognized because I've been paying more attention to what's fighting it?

I AM giving myself permission to discover more of who I AM.

What happens when a story you've repeated for years begins to sound like your identity?

In this week's experience, I'm walking with awareness and becoming curious about the language I've allowed to identify me.

There were seasons when the stories I told myself sounded like:

I'm not smart enough.
I'm too young.
I'm afraid.
I'm not happy with how I look.

Those feelings and experiences were real. But TUHDAY, I'm becoming aware of the difference between what I experienced, the story I created from it, and who I said I AM.

This experience invited me to assess the stories, labels, and scripts I've carried—and to notice the Maria who once believed them with understanding rather than criticism.
