Factfulness: The stress-reducing habit of carrying only opinions for which you have strong supporting facts. When asked simple questions about global trends - why the world's population is increasing; how many young women go to school; how many of us live in poverty - we systematically get the answers wrong. So wrong that a chimpanzee choosing answers at random will consistently outguess journalists, Nobel laureates, and investment bankers.

Countless readers have been helped by the famous "Babylonian parables," hailed as the greatest of all inspirational works on the subject of thrift, financial planning, and personal wealth. In language as simple as that found in the Bible, these fascinating and informative stories set you on a sure path to prosperity and its accompanying joys. Acclaimed as a modern-day classic, this celebrated bestseller offers an understanding of - and a solution to - your personal financial problems that will guide you through a lifetime.
あらすじ・解説
The #1 personal finance book of all time... translated into dozens of languages and sold around the world.
Rich Dad Poor Dad is Robert's story of growing up with two dads - his real father and the father of his best friend, his rich dad - and the ways in which both men shaped his thoughts about money and investing. The book explodes the myth that you need to earn a high income to be rich and explains the difference between working for money and having your money work for you.
20 Years... 20/20 Hindsight
In the 20th anniversary edition of this classic, Robert offers an update on what we’ve seen over the past 20 years related to money, investing, and the global economy. Sidebars throughout the book will take listeners “fast forward” - from 1997 to today - as Robert assesses how the principles taught by his rich dad have stood the test of time.
In many ways, the messages of Rich Dad Poor Dad, messages that were criticized and challenged two decades ago, are more meaningful, relevant and important today than they were 20 years ago.
As always, listeners can expect that Robert will be candid, insightful... and continue to rock more than a few boats in his retrospective.
Will there be a few surprises? Count on it.
Rich Dad Poor Dad...
- Explodes the myth that you need to earn a high income to become rich
- Challenges the belief that your house is an asset
- Shows parents why they can't rely on the school system to teach their kids about money
- Defines once and for all an asset and a liability
- Teaches you what to teach your kids about money for their future financial success

Dope book to begin your journey of financial literacy
I just downloaded the book and only in the first few chapters but I’m already learning things that I haven’t heard before! I love it so far and recommend to anyone looking to get out of the “rat race”. Also take a look at the pdf files included with the book. In order to do so go to the desktop version of your audible account and go to library, there is where you’ll be able to download the PDFs

if you've read the original, this is too similar
I wouldn't recommend getting this if you've read the original since it seems like the only changes are a bit in the beginning and breaks in between chapters to summarize and review. If you have trouble reflecting on what you've read, then the review sections may be of more use to you. It's still an amazing book and this is the definitive version if you're just getting it for the first time.

Even though updated, it's traditional advice
I really wanted to like this book, but what got to me was the constant repetition like I was a 5 year old. Beyond that, there were some good concepts and things to think about. Most of it, however, felt very old and traditional, and not what would work well in 2019. It's a different economic climate now than it was when the book was originally written, and the tone and overall principles were not updated--they feel very 1980s. Comments like "That's what friends are for" (to give you great tips on good investments) and advice like "get and maintain rich friends" are kind of inauthentic for younger generations. I also found a lot of talk about things, but no instruction on how to actually implement anything. Overall I'm afraid I can't recommend this book.

Good book, but terribly cut for audible
This book is pretty good, and confirms a lot of things I’ve come to realize on my own over the years. I must say the first 2/3 or so of the book is really solid, but it gets less insightful and the advice more sketchy toward the end.
Unfortunately, the audible version is cut terribly. It makes no sense to have the study questions from chapter n at the start of chapter n + 1. These should be totally separate chapters in an audiobook. Really disappointed that audible screwed this up so bad.

Don’t buy! Waste of time & money!
This book is a terrible waste of time and money!!
I got it to learn about investing and finance, and there is ZERO useful information in this book!
The writer may be an awesome investor that made millions, but he is extremely stringy with his knowledge. He is a true salesman that talks a lot and says VERY little. The content is very superficial and dumbed-down from beginning to end, practically treating his readers like idiots, and the same few concepts are repeated over and over and over again... like how important it is to have financial IQ (no kidding!! That’s why we purchased the book!!) but makes zero attempts to teach anything about it. And how having a house is a liability, not an asset (repeated so many times that I started skipping forward whenever he started talking about this again). I kept going on though, hoping that maybe he’ll get to the point in the next chapter... then the next... but nope! This book is AWFUL! Thank God that Audible allows you to exchange this with something else so I can rid of this crap asap. But you want to listen to a lame, 8-hour informercial about how smart he is, then buy this book

A blog post...stretched in to a book
I have been putting off reading/listening to this book for a while. I enjoy nonfiction books to learn new perspectives, but I found Rich Dad painfully slow and vague. Each chapter feels like it is building to a big reveal and conclusion, only to end with a repetitive summary of the build up.

Disappointing
So lots of people rave how this changed the way they view money and there are some half decent points made but most of which you will already know if you have any money sense.
The issue is that this is very American and is also, even with the update, out of date in how things work now and what can and cannot be done.
I am not saying it is not worth the listen but it really does not provide anything special or relatable for this period of time.

Do you literally know nothing about money?
I half listened to an interview with Mr Kiyosaki on the economic impacts of the coronavirus. He did a great job of creating a sense of urgency and implying that he had specific, actionable knowledge. I listened to the whole interview, but I couldn't really pin down anything specific from it. I put this down to me not properly paying attention, and resolved to just get this book to see what knowledge lay within.
Basically, I would summarise this book like this: Mr Kiyosaki doesn't give many specific examples, but he does mention buying property with a 16% yield and buying property and selling it for more than double. If you want to learn why those are good things, then this is probably a great book for you. If you want to learn how to find opportunities like that, then this book doesn't really tell you much.
Personally, I felt that the content of the book was obvious, at too high a level of generality to be useful, and expressed very inefficiently. I don't think that we really need a folksy, long waffling anecdote to illustrate obvious points, and having the inefficient study session sections that basically repeat the same anecdotes a little more efficiently grew tiresome very quickly. Particularly when they payoff was something like "education is good" or "you have to take risk to earn more."
Mr Kiyosaki's attitude towards risk was something that struck me as particularly poorly fleshed out. He offers disdain for the "mutual fund" and the diversification that it supposedly offers and he offers some comments that diversification will lower your returns, so you should concentrate your assets in things that you know more about, and you should start early so that if you make losses you have more time to recover. That's sort of the "what", but what would be much more useful is the "how". It is particularly annoying that Mr Kiyosaki is quick to intersperse the book with self-congratulatory examples of how he found some great deal, and he talks about having made mistakes and lost money, but he doesn't give details about that or, more importantly, how he recovered. His idea is that most people are too timid, but he doesn't offer much to address the reader's fear of failure.
The book also seems to be based on the USA, but doesn't clarify this, which may be important if the reader's local laws differ, for example the tax treatment of various assets. Mr Kiyosaki gives an example of avoiding contracts to sell his properties by making them contingent on the approval of his business partner, then having the business partner be is cat and saying the cat didn't approve it. Maybe that is acceptable in the USA, but I wonder if it would enable the buyer to sue Mr Kiyosaki (or the reader) in other jurisdictions.
Needless to say, I don't think I missed much from Mr Kiyosaki's interview on the coronavirus. Clearly, the book wasn't for me. If you are after something that uses a lot of folksy anecdotes to explain some very simple concepts in an approachable and fun way, it might be for you.

Love it or hate it
This is a hard book to like. Ideas are largely contrary to those in logical finance books. Credit to Kiyosaki for not only achieving what he did but also for being willing to share it but his guidance masks a combination of substantial work and a lot of luck. At times he makes it seem so easy it’s like a get rich quick scheme.

Don't Work For Money
Robert says don't work for money (except for the first third of your life where you need to accumulate wealth to be able to do anything he suggests). Robert makes some good points, not all of them practical for people who are not yet millionaires. Sure I want to quit my job and invest in real estate but to do that you need a pile of cash...and starting your business is like a 50/50 gamble. Take from this what you want, but don't quit your job just yet!

Not useful and very repetitive
Just keep talking about house is not an asset, don’t work for money, make money work for you. Very repetitive and it’s all talk. Doesn’t actually tell you anything useful - all common sense. Wouldn’t recommend.

mind set and understanding changed
I've been listening and reading heavily into the way money works on macro and personal levels for over 12 months.
this book really tied the 2 of them together for me. I listened to this at the exact right time for it to make the greatest impact.

A great guide
fantastic book. so relevant in 2021!
honestly everything in this book makes complete sense and really highlights how poor the current education system is. people are trained by design to be middle class. The amount of similarities I draw between poor dad and my own parents is insane and I consider myself lucky to have been inadvertently on the "rich dad" oath myself for some time already.
