"I'm so disorganized!" "I can't get my act together!" "My inner life is a mess!"

How many times have you heard (or even said) those words? Our culture produces so many books to help us organize our work, our schedules, our studies, our careers, that we may be tempted to think it is possible to order our inner world by establishing control in the outer world of activity.

Gordon MacDonald believes otherwise. In a "memo to the disorganized", he says, "If my private world is in order, it will be because I am convinced that the inner world of the spiritual must govern the outer world of activity." He breaks down this private world into five sectors: motivation, use of time, wisdom and knowledge, spiritual strength, and restoration, and offers both inspiration and practical steps toward order.
