Outstanding, Brilliant, Breathtaking performance...Loved the narrator, captivated by Tom Riddle, had a good laugh over Lockhart,Fred & George, Oliver Wood, absolutely adored Hermione and Ron, and moved to tears by Harry's resourcefulness and bravery. Thank you for this true gift.
Personally, Severus Snape could have a deeper voice or softer tone, but maybe the actor would be able to surprise us later in the books?

MVP of "Chamber of Secrets" goes to...Tom Riddle.

How can you not love it!?

This full-cast audiobook was definitely better than the first book’s edition, but it still had some issues that kept it from being great.
Riz Ahmed’s Snape just didn’t work for me. His voice felt kind of dull and didn’t capture Snape’s cruelty or intimidation at all. I’ll admit I’m probably biased because Alan Rickman set the bar insanely high, but this version really doesn’t do the character justice.
Draco’s fake laugh was another miss along with Fred and George. It sounded way too theatrical and forced, more like stage acting than something meant for an audiobook. It actually took me out of the story.
The highlight for me was Tom Riddle — whoever voiced him did an excellent job. Calm and very believable. Kit Harington as Gilderoy Lockhart was also well done. He nailed the smug, over-the-top charm and was genuinely fun to listen to.
Listening to this made me wonder why they didn’t rely more on professional voice actors. In animation or BBC radio dramas, adults voice kids all the time, and one skilled voice actor can handle multiple roles really well. Instead, it feels like they went for a huge cast rather than strong voice performances. Considering the budget, the directing and casting could’ve been tighter.
Overall, it’s an improvement over Book 1, with a few standout performances — but it could’ve been much better with stronger voice direction.

Magic Yes, casting hmm…
