Quite a shift, I know. Montebello was supposed to be the end of the road. A chance to stop running and start building. But the world doesn't care about retirement. Deep inside me, the beast is winning and I'm inclined to give in. Go wild and put down all those who hunt me and mine, but it is never that easy when you have someone or something to protect. With Ivory pushing my cultivation to the breaking point, and a new entity joining the crazy wolf, it's getting crowded in here. I'm becoming something less human and more... primal.

It makes the hunt easier, but it makes the politics of men feel like a distraction. I don't fully belong to either world anymore, but the old life comes knocking again. They think because we now have a roof over our heads, that we've grown soft. They couldn't be more wrong. Between my dual-elemental path and a pack that doesn't know how to lose, it's time we show them that old monsters are old for a reason.
