あらすじ・解説

In this powerful and uplifting novel, a mother and her daughter-in-law bravely leave their troubled marriages and face the challenge of starting over.

When Nichole discovers that her husband, Jake, has been unfaithful, the illusion of her perfect life is indelibly shattered. While juggling her young son, a new job, and volunteer work, Nichole meets Rocco, who is the opposite of Jake in nearly every way. Though blunt-spoken and rough around the edges, Rocco proves to be a dedicated father and thoughtful friend. But just as their relationship begins to blossom, Jake wagers everything on winning Nichole back - including their son Owen's happiness. Somehow, Nichole must find the courage to defy her fears and follow her heart, with far-reaching consequences for them all.

Leanne has quietly ignored her husband's cheating for decades but is jolted into action by the echo of Nichole's all-too-familiar crisis. While volunteering as a teacher of English as a second language, Leanne meets Nikolai, a charming, talented baker from Ukraine. Resolved to avoid the heartache and complications of romantic entanglements, Leanne nonetheless finds it difficult to resist Nikolai's effusive overtures - until an unexpected tragedy tests the very fabric of her commitments.

An inspiring novel of friendship, reinvention, and hope, A Girl's Guide to Moving On affirms the ability of every woman to forge a new path, believe in love, and fearlessly find happiness.

Loved the story but...

Not happy with the language used. Disappointed that she is choosing to go that route.

Ok enough

Not as good as the first in this series but enough to give the last one a try.

Love it!!

This book was exactly what I needed! I am recently divorced and I could relate to it 100%. It was like Nicole and LeAnn were the friends I didn't have. It gave me hope. The story was entertaining and yet therapeutic. I highly recommend this for anyone dealing with a divorce.

I couldn’t wait for the book to be over!

The characters Nikolai and Chantel were over the top. The one character in the book traded a cheating husband for a jealous control freak. You got sick of hearing the same thing over and over again from Nikolai. And Chantel the way she talk to the other character when she was upset with her was not OK. If you’re truly her friend, you wouldn’t act the way you did. I could not wait for this book to end. It was torture listening to Nikolai and Chantel
I have loved each and everyone of this authors books but this one was one I could’ve done without.

Nonexistent boundaries

I enjoyed the prequel, ‘Last One Home’, and was looking forward to round 2. But it was disappointing. Some of the characters are a bit annoying, some nearly unlikable, and a few downright awful. Added to unlikable characters is the fact that there is not a healthy boundary in sight! At all! I fast forwarded in several spots that were downright cringy. To be honest, I only finished it to see if there was any epilogue info on the characters from the prequel novel.

How many red flags did Nikolai come with?

I liked the book and the narrators, I just find they always help me unwind one my drive to and from work. I didn’t like the character Nikolai one bit! DM didn’t empower Leanne to see right through him and his possessive and possibly narcissistic ways.
