The Black Ledger is a grim western-horror chronicle set in the War for the Adamite Throne universe, following Elias Crowe, a hard, solitary hunter moving through the Western Deadlands where survival, memory, and violence are all tangled up with something older and more systemic than ordinary monsters.

The Layer beneath the Ash is the second Six Feet of Dirt chronicle, set about twenty years after The Black Ledger, and it shifts the series from Elias Crowe’s lone Deadlands resistance into a harsher world where thin order has been rebuilt by force and maintained by people willing to break themselves to keep it standing.

In the brutal southern reaches of the Duskland Republic, Georgian Province survives by grit, gunfire, and men willing to ride where law breaks down. In 3987 AC, the Georgian Rangers —an elite five-man frontier hunter team —are sent to investigate what should have been a simple high-threat beast contract after a ranch family is besieged by something unnatural in the dark. Led by the calm and deadly Captain Jorale Kane, the Rangers discover the truth is far worse than a rogue predator.
